She created a model of nursing that persists to this day in the form of honor and respectability associated with nurses, highly structured nursing education, and holistic patient care approaches. She was ahead of her time, engaging in research and effecting sweeping policy changes when women were heavily discouraged from such endeavors.” She was a leader and reformer who led the way for the development of science based practice in the 21st century. “If we were to derive one simple lesson from Nightingale’s life and work, it would come from this single unifying thread that society has a big responsibility for the health of all its members.” Nursing has never been simple or easy, nor is serving as a patient advocate. However, it is important to include advocacy as a part of nursing.

(Hoyt, S., 2010) Known as the Mother of Modern Nursing, Florence Nightingale devoted her life to helping others.

I vigorously educate women and girls in my community about the dangers of FGM. I particularly enjoy women integrating into society. It brings me joy to know that I have made a difference in someone else’s life. I know that there will be challenges ahead, but I have the faith, potential and determination to reach my vision of becoming a nurse. I also believe that nursing is highly competitive, and rewarding at the same time.

I have watched a lot of inspiring movies and I would say that Temple Grandin is the most striking. This movie revolves around a woman named, Temple Grandin, who became successful despite having limitations due to her autism. She graduated as college valedictorian and she also completed her Ph.D. Furthermore, the movie also shows the importance of moral support and understanding to the persons with autism for their consolation and feeling of relief. I commend the movie for effectively showing how a person with autism or disability like Temple Grandin could overcome her limitations and eventually become successful.

Introduction: Nursing is a noble job and it is a profession where it attracts those who have natural nurturing abilities. People chose to be a nurse as they have the desire to help and assist others and a knack for science or anatomy. Nursing is known to be an art and science. There are many skills that a nurse would nurture in and one of the most important skills that a successful nurse has is the ability to think critically. Being a nurse for the past twenty six years, I strongly believe that, the ability to gain the skills to think critically is not by overnight.

She influenced authoritative people to create laws improving health care. She motivated the people around her to work as hard as she did. She has been awarded the “Nightingale Jewel,” a badge with an inscribed loyalty from Queen Victoria, for her provision in the Crimean War. The British government had given her a cash prize worth of $250,000, this money, was utilized to establish the Hospital of St. Thomas’ and a school of nurses, Florence Nightingale built called the Nightingale Training School for Nurses. Florence Nightingale became England’s most practiced in public health.

Task 1 So many influences throughout time has impacted Nursing in so many ways in which has also shaped this professional sector. There are several historical and contemporary influences that has made Nursing such diverse and versatile career. I will be looking at Florence Nightingale, a well-known historical figure that has influenced modern healthcare and fabricated nursing into a noble profession for women. I will be comparing Florence Nightingale’s influences on the Economic cost of Nursing in this modern age and the issues in this workforce have changed over time. Florence Nightingale is an iconic historical key figure who changed Nursing forevermore by having pioneered modern nursing and reforming the face of Nursing also contributing her own skills and work by establishing better sanitation methods and initiating better health standards in the hospital environment.
