My sports experiences was great due to me playing varsity football all my four years in high school. I played football because it’s a passion for me, and I understand the game so much. Football, to me, was a dream to play at the next level or even to coach the game; at the next level. Since I wasn’t able to compete at the next level. I began to work on different material to help me coach the game at the level. Football for me, taught me ultimately, how to deal with life. It’d taught me three skills that were: teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. I felt like after my senior year of football, I was able to do a lot things on my own, because of the confidence I had, and the mentality to; achieve greater things for myself later in life. The
In “Do Sports Build Character or Damage it?” Mark Edmundson explains the pros and cons of children who grow up playing football. Firstly, he believes the perseverance it takes to show up for hard practices is useful later in life. Especially when they get frustrated with something and don’t notice the little bits of progress they are making.
Moreover, it can serve as an inspiration to others to strive for success, despite their difficult circumstances. This emphasizes the transformative power of football and how it can provide an avenue for personal growth and
Lowry high school athletics have changed my life in many ways. It has taught me discipline, respect and how to handle my success and failures. High school athletics to me have been more than just time to miss school or just a thing to do to mess around with my friends. Athletics have already enhanced my career tremendously already. The first thing high school athletics has taught me is disciple.
They supported me throughout all of my life and encouraged me to be better than them. An early memory that I have as a child is playing football for the Detroit PAL Youth Football League and I started learning the game of football and valuable life lessons. When I got older, I attended Martin Luther King High School in Detroit and my four years there made me the player I am today. High School football is a learning ground for young boys to strengthen their personality and character for their lives later to come.
Lewis states that in football there are many roadblocks that tempt kids to quit-- such as not being first string, losing a big game, or not being strong or fast enough--, but the promise of a big pay off for those who persevere through the tough times keeps kids in the game (Lewis). Teaching perseverance to kids is a valuable life lesson that is beneficial to them all throughout their lives. Perseverance is an important skill to have because life will not always be an easy walk in the park. There will always be the occasional (or sometimes more frequent) roadbump that forces one to either give up and admit defeat or overcome adversity and push through. Football teaches kids how to overcome that obstacle and make it through to the light at the end of the tunnel which will serve them for the better throughout their lives.

One thing that I believe influenced me a lot that I did when I was younger was playing sports, and in particular, soccer. If I had not played sports I think I would be a quite a different person. Sports is where I got a bit of a competitive nature, and while that’s not a major part of my personality, I’m not one to get ridiculously into a game of Uno or something of that nature, I do enjoy competition and I do enjoy the feeling of winning. I also feel as though I wouldn’t be as vocal as I am. When I played soccer I played defense which is a position that requires constant communication to organize and my coach had my captain the defense, so that required me to come out of my quiet nature a bit.
Football Life Imagine being able to do the career you’ve always wanted to do. I want to be a football player as my career. You should learn the skills involved with your position. A coach has a scheme that you have to train at that position(E1).Understand what exactly you are asked to do to help the team succeed. You have to learn the plays and what you do during that play(E2).You must adhere to protocals and policies set forth by the organization.
The game of football is very intriguing. Many people only see this sport as violent hard hitting athletes, but little do they no there is a lot more to the sport of football. Hard work, long days and fatigue is just a small part of what preparation is like for a football athlete. The biggest benefit of any football player is not only being dedicated but being able to have a so called second family. The sport of football comes with many learning stretches such as discipline, dedication, and teamwork no matter the level the athlete which goes way beyond the field.
Football has been my favorite sport since I could run. Running free in the grass with friends and family made me appreciate the the quality of life I was blessed to have. Senior year of high school I went from league champions to below .500 records. Lake Winaukee was where the team would prep and practice for the upcoming season. As a senior, I felt I was obliged to help my team win football games and the place we could create chemistry was Lake Winaukee.
I, myself, has learned so much from my high school football games. Most females have no clue when it comes to sports, but in my case, football. Watching high school football, has taught me different positions, the names of players, their strengths and weaknesses and even who’s the water boy on the team, which most boys like to call this an “injury recovery” or “ineligible” because of grades. I have always loved the sport, but never knew what it meant or how to actually play. In my eyes, all you had to do was run the ball without being tackled, until I found out the fundamentals of the game such as; the play
“I learned about life with a ball at my feet.” What do you first think about when you hear the word soccer? Do you think about the coolest goal ever made? Or maybe the best jukes you’ve ever seen? Well there’s more to soccer than scoring goals and juking people.
As a little boy I had big dreams of playing football. When I was walking in the halls of the intermediate and middle school and saw the high school football players with their jerseys on, they were like super stars. I looked up to them because I wanted to be like them. The high school football players were popular, they were happy, and they were important to the school. Going to the football games on Friday nights was the highlight of my week.
When I was a younger kid, I looked up to the high schoolers like they were NFL players. I always dreamed about playing under the lights on friday night. Football now is a whole different story. All of the persistence and hardship of losing has finally payed off. I am now starting on a team that is going for their sixth state-championship in a row.
