Almost here As I was in my bed in the morning on September 23, 1911, I writing in my journal (as always) waiting for the mail to come in. In Ireland many things go around very fast and one of those things was the Titanic. It mostly went around in Ireland because that is where the ship would be leaving from. I was just too excited and could not wait to be on… the Titanic! I have been waiting ever since the Titanic was being built which was in 1998 as I was a young, 18 year old. There was a book written in 1889 called, The Wreck of the Titan. This made me nervous to go on the Titanic in the first place because the ships had almost the exact same name. I am a wealthy woman, although not wealthy enough to go in first class neither was I too poor …show more content…
Already in Southampton, I was packing my bags until the next four months. I packed many many clothes, shoes, socks, hats, and other things that I would need. I also brought a camera to take pictures while on the Titanic and some pictures of my parents who lived in Paris. They did not want to go on the ship and didn't want me to either. But they did tell me that I could make my own choices because I was 32. I had no children or a husband and I didn't have anyone else to come with me. I would enjoy just to relax on the Titanic by myself though. It was finally the day It was the day to set aboard the Titanic which is April 10, 1912. I woke up and it was quite early. Although, I had to be there early so that there wasn't a lot of people there. The Titanic was very beautiful and very very big. It seemed as though it was 5x the size of a whale! The excite ran through my body like a lightning bolt. When I was eventually at the boarding ship, there was a many people that had an exciting expression on their face, and others who looked as though they were not feeling well. There were people at a desk who would ask for your ticket. Some I saw were nice and others were very scary. It took about three hours for the crowd to clear, waiting for their
Then, seasickness settled in. Many on board were seriously ill, including me. Fatigue and nausea consumed my body, and the days in the dark, cramped ship dragged on. I refused to eat the cold, hard food provided for the passengers. My seasickness slowly got better until I was fully recovered by the time the last, gloomy week of the voyage came.
Boston Tea Party Numb, cold, terrified, and anxious. Waiting there, clustered in a group with the other men, these are the four things I was feeling (literally and emotionally). The plan was finalized, everyone knew what to do, and we were hiding behind a large building, the boats already in sight. Everyone was ready to go. Except for me.
I thought to myself I wonder if my parents are dead or alive. They really didn't mean anything to me anymore anyways. The next day I boarded the ship and went to the steerage room, their were thousands of people in there. Then, I started to really think, I'll be in America in the next year.
Approximately three hundred men went down with the ship. Many people either drowned while in a lower part of the ship, or was pulled under with the pressure the ship caused when it sank. Everyone who was lucky, or unlucky, enough to make it out and away from the ship banned together to try and survive. “Water, water, everywhere, and all the boards did shrink; water, water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink.”
Titanic 1500 people died on the catastrophic night of April 14th, riding the Titanic. The ship had around 2240 people on it and over half perished. Captain Edward Smith was to drive the ship from England to New York. Smith went to school as a child, but dropped out at age 12 to be a sailor. He had sailed a lot of cargo ships, but not many passenger ships.
The rooms were nice. They looked like they just got cleaned. There was one bathroom, one shower, one sink, and a couple of beds in our room. As we started to walk around on the boat we seen this big gigantic statue. Everybody in my family asked what is that statue?
On April 15 the unsinkable ship went down into the North Atlantic Ocean. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic by Lauren Tarshis is about the tragedy of the Titanic. I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic is about a 10 year old boy named George. Living in New York, George and his sister, Phoebe, went to England with their Aunt Daisy. They sail home on the ship of the Titanic.
All sorts of luxury was included with this, such as swimming pools and theaters on the ship. When this way of transportation was first being used, the cost was extremely expensive, but as it was around for a few years the cost of it started becoming more and more affordable for the average American family. While this way of travel was a huge hit for many people, there was a large portion of people who thought it was boring and useless to spend that much money and that many days on a
Causes: When the titanic sank to the bottom of the ocean; it was 70 years until the wreckage was found by an expedition that was run by a famous oceanographer. Course: The unsinkable ship was out at sea for 3 days and hit an iceberg and 2 ½ hours to sink everyone was not able to be saved. The lifeboats could have held around 1000 people but only 705 people were saved. 1,500 people died that night.
My Dearest Parents, When you last heard from me, it was about two months when I first boarded the ship. The voyage was normal at first, the only discomfort being the number of passengers traveling with me. The reason for the overcrowding was due to the passengers hoping they can experience a new life for not only themselves, but also their family and friends. This was my intention too. After a couple of weeks at sea, there was a massive storm that threw the ship off course.
People could bring a surprising amount of supplies with them on the boats. Including large amounts of clothing, tools, and kitchen supplies. Depending on when you were traveling people could take pets, like
The Titanic’s maiden voyage was a disaster because the people didn’t prepare for things like this. Most ships go over a safety procedures, but the Titanic didn’t do such a thing. They only rescued wealthy people, which I felt was wrong. Some passengers jumped off the ship in desperation. Whoever drove the ship couldn’t have been paying attention.
There were 2,240 on board for the voyage. The ship left Ireland and was sailing to New York. On April 14th, the crew received reports of icy water from other ships but they did not see any so they were not concerned. There were also reports of icebergs in the area. The Titanic had a small coal fire when it left one of the docks it was previously
1- Introduction. It was the night between the 14th and the 15th of April 1912. The British ocean liner Titanic, described as " unsinkable " by the builders and the ship-owners, sank due to a collision with an iceberg in the Atlantic ocean , ending with a tragedy that cost the lives of 1517 people ( 2223 in total ) [1]. What went wrong ?
‘Titanic’ was released in December 1997, while Cameron started shooting the footage since 1995. One naturally marvels at the special effects of the shipwreck, especially the crux of the plot, which is the breaking of the ship. As the ship loses its electricity, people who are still on board panic: they are grabbing everything they can to prevent them from falling into the abyss. There are people trying to jump off the board, but end up crushing themselves on the turbine of the ship. The cue accompanying the shipwreck scene is atonal, which adds more chaos to this disastrous scene.
