James Madison
James Madison is a very influential person in the history of the United States. He wrote many documents and books including the first drafts of the U.S. constitution, Co-writing the federalist papers and sponsoring the Bill of Rights. He is a founding fathers of the great country we live in today. He is also the founder of the Democratic-Republican party and the fourth president of the United States. James Madison is a very important American for what he did for the United States that still stands today. He is a very influential and important person in the history of the United States from what he has accomplished and what he did will always be remembered. Some background for Madison is that he was born in Port Conway, Virginia on March 16, 1751. He came from a wealthy Virginian planters family and received a great education from the college of New Jersey which is now Princeton University. He wanted to keep neutral in times of the French and English conflict. He said in his first inauguration speech that he wanted to stay neutral with that be respected by the warring parties. Later, America was attacked by the British and had some times of not great success but when America won other fights, like the battle of New Orleans and Tecumseh, Madison was looked highly upon once again. “Almost all of these new western lands supported Madison and strongly supported the War of 1812.” (Miller center domestic affairs) Throughout the war Madison gained more support and at the end he had support by almost the entire country. He also once and for all gained respect for the american people on the ocean. After the war he was liked and supported by more people than when he was first inaugurated in 1808.
