Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He came from a wealthy family and was shown early on the power in money. Kennedy was one of nine siblings, most of which achieved great accomplishments in their lifetime. He and his siblings remained close throughout their lives and continued to support and encourage each other. I believe having a large family is a huge reason as to why Kennedy was so likable to the American people.

Kennedy became president in 1961, African Americans throughout most of the South were denied voting rights, barred from public facilities, subjected to insults and violence, and couldn’t expect justice from the courts. In the North, they are faced by discrimination in education, employment, housing, and many other areas. Therefore, the Civil Rights Movement have made essential progress to bring justice.

History has changed the generation we live in many ways. Many people changed history to be the way it is today. The Civil Rights Movement was a major part of history that changed the lives of many Americans. During the time of the Civil Rights Movement, many different races didn 't receive the same rights as other Americans. Many inequalities were targeted African Americans who faced discrimination. Many people took a stand against these injustices such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and President John F. Kennedy. Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy both made speeches addressing Civil Rights and inspired more people to support their cause. Both Martin Luther King Jr. and John F. Kennedy used rhetorical strategies to emphasize the main points in their speeches. Martin Luther King Jr used repetition and parallel structure and John F. Kennedy used logos and pathos to highlight the importance of civil rights worldwide.

In 1961, during the Cold War, John F. Kennedy addressed not only America, but all nations in his inaugural address. As the 35th president to be sworn into office, Kennedy was the first Catholic and youngest president to be elected. When giving his speech, he provided his audience with reassurance for the future to come, even with so much change. Throughout his speech, Kennedy relies on the use of antithesis to provide a sense of unity to the public.

John F. Kennedy was a well know person in the United States. He was America 's 35th President from January 20, 1961 to November 22, 1963. Sadly his life was cut short in a trip to Dallas, Texas. The gunman was later founded and arrested but never stood trial because he was later killed. FBI release that it was a lone gunman work but many people say that there was another person involved in another build. The killer Lee Harvey Oswald who was an american sniper. Is it conspiracy or actual true that it was a lone gunman? Many articles, book, and people say it was a conspiracy by the FBI which I agree for many reason.

I chose to write about John F. Kennedy using the his “Civil Rights Address” as my primary source. By writing this paper I hope to prove how JFK helped the civil rights movement even though his term was cut short. I’m hoping I can prove that during his term he accomplished something for this movement that had a lasting effect. Civil rights was and still is a big deal in America and I hope to find out about his contribution to that effort.

Kennedy called his domestic program that was known as the New Frontier. A program that was ambitiously promising to give federal funding for education to those with low income, medical care to the elderly so they gotten the best treatment. Even economic aid to people who were living in the rural regions of America as well as government intervention to help halt the recession, it was a period of temporary economic decline for all trade and industrial activities for farms and factories, causing income of profit in America to reduce. Kennedy had also promised an end to racial discrimination toward colored people. He told everyone this deal in his speech at the Democratic Convention, saying that not all problems are won through, just at many problems are not solved.

John F. Kennedy will always be remembered for two things- how his presidency started and how it ended. He dealt with many struggles and had to make life-threatening decisions. Trying to avoid a nuclear war during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy's final decision on the compromise kept everyone aroused. Kennedy is known for his famous inaugural speech that was watched by millions around the world. He asked them what they can do as individuals to better their own country and not what their country can do for them. Kennedy tries to persuade everyone around the world to make a change. He assures all individuals that they are a part of their country too and the president does not have to be the only one to make a change. At the end of his speech,

Therefore, Kennedy used many rhetorical strategies to convince the citizens of the United States to become involved with their country. John F Kennedy was a level headed, determined and well accomplished person. During his short-lived presidency, he had to take on challenges like no other and did it with sophistication and grace. From conflicts involving other countries, like Vietnam, to the Civil Rights Movement that directly affected our own country, Kennedy continued to take each problem day by day until there was an overall improvement or resolution. It would be safe to say that he is one of the more progressive presidents our country has ever seen.

Even today this speech has a timeless aura about it considering that this country still faces racial tension and violence every day.
