Leonardo Da Vinci’s positive contributions to society. Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452, in a small village outside Florence. Leonardo was an apprentice for many artists but his first apprenticeship was for Andrea del Verrocchio. Together they made the painting The Baptism Of Christ. Leonardo would soon compose his own piece called The Adoration of Kings. Sadly his painting would never be finished because Leonardo moved to Milan. In Milan, Leonardo painted The Madonna of The Rocks and his famous piece called The Last Supper. When Leonardo returned to Florence in 1499 he made a drawing of Isabella d'Este. Also, Florence was building a new city hall and proposed to Leonardo and Michelangelo to paint paintings of battles which had taken place. Leonardo chooses to draw The Battle of Anghiari. Now the painting is in bad shape even with many efforts to restore it. (Summers 2). In the normal painting of The Last Supper Jesus and his disciples are all in a straight line and Judas has moved away from the others, but Leonardo did not do this. (Summers 2).Leonardo took on a different setting than the normal painting, separating the disciples into seven groups. All the groups are reacting in different ways to the new of Jesus announcement.(Summers 1). Leonardo took on a bold stance with going off of his own opinions and creating his own style. Such actions made a huge impact on society. Leonardo also used linear perspective to draw attention to Jesus' face. This creates an intriguing and interesting painting to see. (Summers 2).
