Before this point in the book, I did not think that Lily, Tia, and Ashley were going to have to give themselves up. In order to save everyone they had to become Warset. This is a very big deal because Lily had been the protagonist and the protagonist usually lives to the end of the book. It is important that Lily did not know this a the beginning of the book. If she did know in the beginning, Lily would not be able to do everything to work up to that point. She would have probably run away and try to save herself but she had already made some other sacrifices. After that she was strong enough to sacrifice her life for the betterment of mankind. Even if the author made Lily open to the idea at the beginning of the book, it would be very unconvincing and it would not be a good series. …show more content…

This quote is when Nebu is explaining that he can close the breach in New York with a lot of help from his family. After they did sacrifice themselves, Lily was just as sad as me because she did not know that they would have to die in order to save everyone. A very big amount of unicorns had to join in order to close the breach and all of them knew that not only would they die but they would not be able to got to the afterlife. This is because of a very old curse set on the alicorn, their leader. It was a very sad moment for me because not only did Nebu sacrifice himself, he also had to ask his family to sacrifice
