Doss single-handedly saved 75 men, including the ones who harassed him earlier in his career, bringing them back to safety with most of the men living after any surgery or treatment. Doss saved these men while under enemy fire still without the use of a weapon. During battle, Doss was injured in the leg due to a grenade, and his arm was shattered because of a sniper shot.
