I have a few people in my family that are veterans. Their service means alot to me. I admire them for their for their bravery and loyalty to their country. They inspire me in many ways such as to be brave even if the situation requires only a small act of bravery, and to speak out against something I know is wrong. To me veterans need to be honored every day for their service.
According to “Hrothgar’s Sermon”, “Beowulf, my friend, your fame has gone far and wide, you are known everywhere” (McArthur). Beowulf's reasoning for coming to the land is not fame, he came to keep his father's promise, and that is what every heroic leader should do. Knowing you have a loyal leader gives you more courage to do what they believe is the right choice. According to Loughman, “His comrades willingly go with him because of their confidence in his ability to lead them and to achieve their objectives” (Loughman). Beowulf never let his army down, he gave them assurance by coming to their land and having the courage that they will defeat
He could not see soldiers getting shot next to him and not decide to help. By the end of the night he rescued an estimated seventy-five men. In addition, when he refused to kill or carry a weapon into combat. Thus, the refusal to carry a gun caused a lot of trouble among his fellow soldiers. The court attempted to throw him out, because he refused to carry a gun.
After Mark passed the horrible requirements and brutal workouts in his nine months on the Green Team he was told he was accepted in to Team Six. In 2005 he was first deployed to Afghanistan after the American invasions into Iraq and Afghanistan. The United States was determined to capture or kill the terrorists who were responsible for the awful terrorist attacks in New York, Shanksville, PA, and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001. Their main concern was hunting down the terrorist leader of al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden.

He had this responsibility because he made a promise. He had done what he could to keep Lennie out of trouble, by telling him to stay quiet, and not to talk to Curley’s wife. But, he couldn’t control himself. It was up to George to protect Lennie, and he did this by taking his life. Surely, dying in a second was a better outcome for Lennie than being beat, hung, and finally dying after being tortured.
Have you needed a specific trait to survive a horrible or terrifying experience? These three people have survived horrific events throughout their lives. Hyenseo Lee survived from escaping North Korea, Aron Ralston had his hand stuck under a rock for one hundred twenty-seven hours, and Rick Grimes survived a zombie apocalypse. The traits that these people had when they went through these tragic events were determination with Hyenseo Lee, intelligence for Aron Ralston, and leadership for Rick Grimes.
Throughout the novel Salva demonstrates determination by pushing himself to do his best and not give up on anything no mater what is going on. One instance where Salva showed determination is on page 65, paragraph 4. “Marial was gone. Uncle was gone, too, murdered by those Nuer men right before salva’s eyes. Marial and uncle were no longer by his side, and they never would be again, but salva knew that both of them would have wanted him to survive,to finish the trip and reach the itang refugee camp safely.
When looking at the flag one thing that comes in my mind is bravery. Why bravery? To illustrate everyone that fought in wars and served our country had to be brave and willing to fight without regretting it or dropping out when they were scared. The flag also shows perseverance for every man and women who fought or was in the army without giving up or doing something when they thought
The Crucible teaches readers to stick to what they believe in, even if others disagree. John died, but with honor because he did not let others change his mind. Like John Proctor risks his life to say what he believes in, others from around the world protest what they believe in even though some get thrown in
In a lot of stories, the characters are what makes a “great story,” but most characters a very different from each other, just like in the three stories, The Sniper, The Most Dangerous Game and Harrison Bergeron. They all share the same trait. Even though the characters share the same trait, they differ in their own ways. A way the Characters all share a similar trait is that Rainsford, Harrison and The Sniper are all very “brave.” One way the Harrison is very brave is that he stood up against a government who kills and locks up people that are “over average” “(different or better than normal).”
Are there holocaust survivors? Elie Wiesel was lucky enough to survive the terrible actions of the holocaust. Wiesel was only 15 when he got sent away to a concentration camp. Elie Wiesel deserves this award because he was able to keep his mental state strong enough to keep himself alive. There’s a number of reasons why he deserves this award but here are a couple.
Comparison of Gilgamesh and Achilles In The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Iliad, Gilgamesh and Achilles carry the burden of being powerful heroes and assume the leadership roles that follow. We see both characters make selfish decisions, experience the effects of companionship, and undergo moral change throughout their journeys. Tracing their decisions shows how they change, and more importantly exhibits what drives their change. Gilgamesh’s main internal struggle is rooted in the well being of the people of Uruk versus the well being of himself. Gilgamesh’s practice of prima nocte and lack of compassion for his people inspires resentment from the public of Uruk.
The Flag of freedom and loyalty. When I see the flag in the wind I think about all those people who died to give the freedom we have today and to make Americans proud of them. The flag to me means not just a flag but something that units everyone as one and that says everyone that is welcome here. First, the flag represents, loyalty and courage and here's why I think that. Every solider that has been in a fight had loyalty to America and courage and the reasons why is here.
