Meriwether Lewis, half of the Lewis and Clark duo, did not commit suicide, but was murdered in cold blood.
Argument points:
Modern Day Forensics + Weapons Used and Wounds inflicted
Witnesses + Potential Killers
Life Prior to Death + Accomplishments
After Death Investigation
Unfortunately, Meriwether Lewis was previously suicidal, and possibly had several mental illnesses. He allegedly tried to commit suicide multiple times during the Corps of Discovery. Lewis was also believed to have had depression or an anxiety disorder.
Meriwether Lewis was an explorer, soldier, politician and public administrator. He was best known for his role as the leader of the Corps of Discovery, but he was also President Thomas Jefferson's private secretary. He was a member of the Virginia state militia, helped to quell the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794 and was also an army

Meriwether Lewis was shot twice; once in the head and another time in the chest (B4).
The gun used was a .69 caliber pistol.
To shoot himself twice, Lewis, who was known to carry only one pistol and one rifle, would have to had shot himself in the head with his .69 caliber pistol, reloaded, then continued to shoot himself in the chest (B3).
The angle at which the bullet entered his cranium was parallel to the ground, entering from the front of his head.
The angle that the gun must have been held at would have been awkward.
Lewis physically could not have moved his arm into the position it must have been in order to achieve that angle (H5). He would have had to turn the gun completely around for it to face the front of his head, bending his arm at a 90 degree angle, with his wrist facing away from his head. . Had he really shot himself, why wouldn’t he hold the gun at an easier
On Sunday, March 12, 2017 at approximately 12:07p.m, Client Joseph Dorsey was shot while leaving the Talbert House Spring Grove facility. Mr. Dorsey was leaving the facility at 12:07 on approved movement, after Mr. Dorsey left the facility he headed north on Avon St. where allegedly his assailants were waiting on him and shots were fired. Born August 18, 1774; Meriwether Lewis was an American explorer, soldier, politician, public administrator, and the leader of the Louisiana expedition group known as the Corps of Discovery. During the first few years of his life, Meriwether grew up on his family’s estate in Ivy Creek, Virginia. After the death of Meriwether’s father in 1779, Meriwether’s mother Lucy Meriwether remarried to John Marks who later moved the family to Broad River Valley, Georgia in 1780. At his new home, Meriwether was influenced by his love for natural history and spent most of his time improving his skills as an outdoorsman, and it is said that he would go out hunting with his dogs at the age of eight. Meriwether’s mother who was a regionally-known herbalist
The second issue is the description of where the shots came from “a point behind and somewhat above.” The 6th floor of the school depository building is not somewhat above Kennedy; it is significantly above the presidential motorcade. Elm Street winds downhill as it heads towards Stemmons Freeway, who was behind and somewhat above the presidential motorcade, George Hickey. The first paragraph of Humes’ report discredits the Bugliosi’s arguments. Someone as critical as Bugliosi should have noticed the uncertainty in Humes’ report as it goes against his arguments and serves as a strong argument to raise
Merriweather Lewis supposedly committed suicide at Grinder Inn when he was going to Washington carrying secret documents. But over the years, much more evidence has surfaced proving that in fact he did not kill himself and was murdered. Everything from the conflicting stories by Pricilla Grinder to the ballistics tests performed, it is clear that this was not in fact suicide and was murder by conspiracy. In a ballistics test conducted, it was proven that when Lewis was shot he would have died instantly and if he didn’t, he certainly would not have enough strength to cock the second gun and shoot himself a second time. The pistol that he used was nicknamed a “horse pistol” because it was strong enough to put down a horse with one shot through
The year after his wife’s death in 1820, Clark married Harriet Kennerly Radford, a widow with three children, and fathered two more sons. A generous man, Clark served as legal guardian for Sacagawea’s children, cared for numerous relatives, and offered assistance to religious groups, missionaries, explorers, and travelers. On the other hand, Clark treated his slave York harshly upon their return from the expedition, although he claimed to have eventually freed him. When Lewis and Clark had problems with illnesses or anything like that the blackfoot indians would send their women to their camp to help them.
On November 22, 1963, our 35th President, John F. Kennedy, was shot and killed. John and Jacqueline Kennedy, along with Texas Governor John Connally and his wife were riding in a convertible through Dallas. This was one of the most publicly known assassinations in history, yet there is so much evidence being withheld. After the assassination, government officials and investigators discovered that Lee Harvey Ozwald fired the shot.
You may or may not know who Meriwether Lewis is, but he has had a very important role in history, especially that of Louisiana, and the cause of death has been argued upon for years. He was a member of the state militia, he helped quell the Whiskey rebellion, a Pennsylvania uprising that was led against taxes, and he was a friend of Jefferson’s. Quite possibly his greatest achievements were governing Louisiana after the purchase, and the Lewis and Clark expedition. He had a major role in the Lewis and Clark expedition, which was to collect data of the plants, animals, and land forms he encountered. He had been picked by Jefferson to be the governor of Louisiana, he was travelling to DC at the time to have the government reimburse him for
Lewis Sage narrowly avoided my grip once before the incident. He was fighting the Confederates on the battlefield, and I had already collected a total of twenty-three souls. Just as a confederate soldier aimed his gun towards Lewis, a Union soldier dove in front of him, taking the bullet straight into his chest. This man was Albert Willman. Albert Willman died in Lewis Sage’s arms.
Lewis also reportedly attempted to take his own life several times a few weeks earlier and was known to suffer from “sensible depressions of mind.” (Mysterious Death of Meriwether Lewis). This piece of evidence supports my claim since his attempted suicides were documented and proves that Lewis would take
Meriwether Lewis, also known from Lewis and Clark, was a great American. He was an explorer, soldier, politician, and public administrator. He was involved in the Louisiana purchase as well as the Lewis and Clark expedition.
The autopsy shows us that Lewis shot himself twice, once in the back of the head and once in the stomach. The autopsy says that the bullet went straight through Lewis’ head and broke most of the skull when it came through the skull. After this it would be impossible to survive a shot like that in any logical circumstance. Also, in the ballistics test in the video, it shows that when the gun was shot from a close distance it didn’t go straight through the skull and got logged inside, showing us that the bullet was shot from a far distance. The ballistic test shows that it takes a long time to reload a horse pistol, seeing that it takes a long time to reload shows us that he wouldn’t have had the time to survive the first shot, let alone reload it and shoot himself another time.
Meriwether Lewis was the leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition that was commissioned by President Jefferson to explore the Louisiana Territory. He came back from this trip with new knowledge of the Louisiana Territory proving that the Louisiana Purchase benefitted the whole country. This made him a hero and further strengthened his friendship with Jefferson. Jefferson later appointed Lewis as the governor of the whole Louisiana Territory. The governorship was significant not only because of the title, but because his rival, James Wilkinson, was turned down for the job because of Lewis.
It is an estimate that people will pay up to $100 billion dollars to avoid this threat. On an average, 59 people kill themselves with a firearm. 46 people are shot or killed with a gun daily and 151 are treated for a gun assault in an emergency room. Killers use a semi- automatic handgun in 75% of incidents.
In the two man scene, what does it make no sense when considering real physics was, there seem to be zero momentum or opposite reaction occurs on the person from firing the very powerful gun, and the unrealistic force that appear to knocks the person backward. To apply the scene using one of law of physic, using Newton’s third law of motion, the force (momentum) that is making the person flying backward, means the same force (recoil) should also act on the person who fired the gun and making him moving the opposite direction. However, if the bullet had such unrealistic momentum that is able to force the person who got hit by the bullet, flying backward, the bullet is more likely to pass through the person and keep on going, because the bullet
