One of the teachers that has had the most impact on me was Mrs. Stevenson. Mrs. Stevenson was an ESL teacher in high school where I attended. She was one strongest and kindest person I have ever met. She willing to help her students to achieve their goals, and she believed in every one of the students, although most of them did not believe in themselves.
On my freshmen year in high school I could not speak English, which it led me to falling behind other classes and could not catchup with other students. I was very close to dropped out from high school and gave up my goal and my dream. Because of the lack of English skill, I did not feel confident on myself or being successful. However, once I talked to Mrs. Stevenson about the situation I
My fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Mackey made a positive effect on my life. She was a very impactful teacher who even today I speak to often. She went above and beyond to ensure that her students were achieving in her classroom. Mrs. Mackey had a relationship with every student in her class and kept up with us through our middle school and high school years. We had such a relationship that she wrote a recommendation letter for me when I was applying for scholarships.
Most of my favorite teachers shared very similar qualities. They were very personal in their teaching,
I had to change my way of writing and the way I use to learn in Haiti. Had to take ESL classes to improve my vocabularies and be able to understand when I’m being spoken to. Because I had stayed in NC for only one year. During my 5th grade years, life wasn 't going as so. so my mother and I move to New Jersey,
She was an impressive woman who came from a solid teaching background. I was constantly in awe of her and the lessons she taught. She would never try to hide how enthralled she was with psychology, even after years of teaching the same topic. Every time a new concept was introduced she would make it a point to ask our class what we personally
My two recent science teachers, Mr. Johnson and Mr. Lawry, have been very influential and very helpful in developing my love for science. Mr. Johnson was my first high school science teacher and he had actually taught science in college before teaching at my school. He devoted much of his life to science and soon after I got to know him, he encouraged me to pursue science as well. It didn’t take me long to appreciate science as much as he did, and before I knew it I spent all of my free time, both in and out of school, with him. Mr. Johnson was the first person to teach me to use a soldering iron and he helped me to disassemble almost anything I could find.
In school, I see Mrs. A (the EA) as my caring support. I find her friendly and approachable. Most of the information I learned about the students in that class was from Mrs. A. I would also like to note that I will share and discuss what happened to the teacher on
I struggled with my education since the age of nine. I lived in an abusive home for three years while changing schools constantly and later being transferred into the foster care system until my mother gained full custody of my siblings and I. Thanks to my counselors, I was able to focus my mind on my education. They always believed in me and guided to take the appropriate steps through my education and through my personal relationships. I have jumped obstacles and I will continue to thrive for success. By helping students with their academic goals, I will be able to provide students the opportunities that were given to me by different counselors.
But that confidence soon began to subside. In elementary school, we would have an annual test that determined whether a student can be placed in an advance or tutorial reading class, and every year I would be placed into the advance reading courses, so when it came time to take the test, I knew there wasn’t anything for me to worry about. And even though my score was one of the highest in the class, I still ended up in a reading tutorial class. I was a little taken aback by it, but it didn’t stop me from my love of reading and writing and plus I could switch out of those classes is I showed improvement. So I did my best to try and show that I didn’t need the extra help like some others did, but all my hard work went in vain
I remember how caring and helpful they would be when it came to college applications. Mrs. Leon was one of the teachers that impacted my life with her advice and guidance. She prepared me with what’s expected in college level writing and much more. I was the type of student that wanted to do everything perfect to college expectations to prepare myself for the real world.
I feel that I had two teachers that really made an impact on me. One of them was my speech teacher Mrs. Miers. I would see Mrs. Miers two to three times a week . And during time we would practice my english and how to pronounce my words correctly. Mrs. Miers would regularly check on me and have frequent meetings with my parents.
I needed Mrs. Hasan ( language arts teacher) to open my locker with a key. I have advanced math first hour. The teacher for math is Mrs Tate. Mrs Tate is really nice she is also very fun. I think I learn more when I have a nice and fun teacher because they take their time to explain things to us.
In elementary school I had a fifth grade math teacher named Mrs. Squires, I may never forget her! She was rewarding, kind, hard and intense. All of the students in my class had no choice but to love and respect her. Mrs. Squires was an uncommon math teacher, she'd write a poem and the author's name on the old white board in the back of the classroom every Monday morning. She warned us that writing and reciting the poem on Monday mornings accounted for 50% of our final grade.
Other students like Zach Weinstein who said “I have been blessed with some of the best English teachers in the state of Pennsylvania whom assisted me in correcting some of the many flaws my writings have had over the course of the past decade and have encouraged me to continue writing”, he had a great experience with his teacher and still had a positive
She really impacted my life. She taught me the beauty to life and how fast it can be taken away without a warning and or a hesitation. She taught me that life is a dash and that you have to live it to the fullest. The quote we lived by “not everyone thinks the way you think, knows the things you know, believes the things you believe nor acts the way you act, remember this and you will go a long way in life.” A loud beep of the machine in her room brought my attention back to her and I.
The teachers who really cared and would spend extra time with me are the ones I respected. At home I had a loving single mother who worked hard to provide for her 5 children. My mother would work so much that at times I wouldn’t see her for a day or two. She worked in the hospital and would do over time every chance she could get. I barley spent time with my mom.
