How Did Osama Bin Laden Changed Our Society

The events that occurred during 9/11 have shaped American society in monumental ways. When the planes crashed into the world trade center, the pentagon, and the remote field, it finally forced America to open their eyes. They were forced to realize the importance of the inhabitants and the Dharma (role) that we all play in this world. As said in an article, history is never concrete. From what we can tell, history always reflects the current events. After 9/11, historians started to think about changing the study of foreign policy; including things that they once thought as insignificant came into the light and began to be re-analyzed.

The attacks of September 11th, 2001 left nearly 3,000 innocent Americans dead. It was the worst attack ever on American soil, and the worst terrorist attack the world has ever seen. It left America in a difficult situation-it must do something to confront the growing terrorism problem around the world. George Bush, the leader of the nation, had to come up with a response to this attack and gave a speech to Congress outlining his plan to combat terror. He made his purpose very clear throughout the speech, as he consistently laid out plans to combat terror. This plan specifically affected all Americans, not to mention many nations around the globe. Bush declared war on terrorism as a whole, and threatened to attack any nations that supported terrorist groups. He also pledged to not stop American aid until “every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated”. Bush successfully used literary devices;

“If we learn nothing from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” This quote comes from Sandy Dahl , the wife of the pilot on flight 93. When thinking about 9/11 this quote comes to mind because on that particular day, the world was reminded how short life really is. This quote also intertwines with 9/11 because it teaches us how there is no time to hate, but to move forward and help each other hand in hand. Even though I was only a year old when September 11th happened, I want to understand this horrific event that went down in history of the United States. These attacks were a changing point in American society because it increased the security in American airports, started a war in Iraq and Afghanistan,

On September 11, 2010, three jets were hijacked and destroyed twin towers in New York City and hitting the Pentagon. This terrorist attack killed over a thousand of people and plotting a huge spot in history. It affected people who lost loved ones in the tragedy. It also made people feel people feel unsafe to go airplanes and to travel anywhere. As a result to 9/11 the government response was to fight back, because of their response it was criticized. The government wanted to invade Iraq, but invading them wasn 't going to take back the damage they 've done to America.

After the 9/11 attacks, America was devastated and distraught. America was in need of a leader. We needed someone to take us in and protect us, to make us feel safe again. George W. Bush (our president at this time) acted as our protector. He comforted America with his sympathetic words, but also managed to bring forth fear to the terrorist. His speech that was broadcasted to the entire world highlighted everything America needed at this time of grief, and will forever be remembered.

Osama bin Laden and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were responsible for plotting 9/11. Khalid Sheik Mohammed was the 9/11 operational commander who initially planned an attack on the United States, which involved hijacking ten planes which were to be flown into buildings on both the west and east coasts.

The way George W. Bush handled the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001 is considered a hero. When the planes hit and the towers fell, as the President he had a hard decision as the whole country was looking to him for calming words in this time of pain. When Bush was first informed about the attack he was walking into a classroom in Florida to read to a group of young children, at this time he went ahead and continued with the children, until he was informed about the second plane. He sat there for several minutes in shock but finished reading; he later said that he was thinking “I looked at the faces of the children in front of me. I thought about the contrast between the brutality of the attacks and in the innocence

On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists boarded four planes, all transcontinental flights full of jet fuel. 9/11 became the first of many hijackings in the United States. The terrorists turned two flights into flying weapons of destruction, knocking down America’s tallest buildings. The third plane rammed into the Pentagon and the fourth plane was crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. 9/11 became the day that a tragic event killed thousands, injured hundreds and changed America forever.

It was a crisp fall day, not too cold, not too hot. It was September 11, 2001. The bright morning sun lit a cloudless blue sky, and birds chirped sweetly in their own beautiful way. All this changed in an instant. On this horrific day in history, thousands of innocent people lost their lives. Nineteen terrorists from a group called Al-Qaeda executed a plan under the plotting of Osama Bin Laden. This plan had possibly been in the process of making for a long time. On 9/11 the terrorists hijacked four planes, intending to do a lot harm to America they killed thousands of people. Two planes were flown into New York’s Twin Towers which were a symbol of prosperity. The third plane was deliberately flown into the Pentagon. The fourth plane had crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. In total about 3,000 people lost their lives. These terrorists claimed to do this because of the presence of US troops in the Middle East. September 11, 2001 was an event that not only impacted the nation, but it impacted many innocent individuals as well.

You may be unaware of how far the event goes back in history, with causes dating back to the 1980’s. Osama Bin Laden had great significance in the causes and events leading up to this day. Bin Laden was the founder of the terrorist organization named al-Qaeda, an organization that has been claimed as the culprits of 9/11.

There was a huge truck bomb explosion on April 19, 1995 it happened outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma. This bombing ended up leaving 168 people dead and and so many more injured. Timothy McVeigh was the one who set off this blast and was put to his death for these crimes in 2001. Timothy had a partner who's name was Terry Nichols and he ended up receiving life in prison. This tragic bombing was the worse attack from terrorist to have taken place on the United States soil, until September 11, 2001.

George Bernard Shaw once said, “Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” Everyone is the way he or she is for a number of reasons. Sometimes things that happen in someone’s personal life majorly influences them; other times world events have a lasting impact on a person. Many things may influence a life, but in my case, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, an ongoing recession, and the legality of same-sex marriage have taken a great impact on me, my life, and my views.

He may have committed acts that were tragic, but just because someone kills someone else does not mean they are a terrorist.

Some say that Bin Laden was a good man and others say that he was a horrible man. Bin Laden wasn’t that bad of a guy he was very prideful and he went to college to King Abdulaziz university.(History.com 2). Osama Bin Laden came from a wealthy family so everything was really handed to him so i don’t know why we would want to hurt people still coming from a wealthy family .

Osama Bin Laden was an anti-American for a long time. When Muslims were attacked in Somalia, Westerners gave support, enraging Bin Laden. Many members of Al-Qaeda found the United State’s support of Israel infuriating. Osama Bin Laden believed that Islam is the superior religion. At 8:46, on the morning of September 11, 2001, American Airlines Flight
