I believe Robert Owen's ideas offered the most hope for improving the industrialized world in the 1900s. During this time there were new fascinating technological advancements. However, with these advancements came issues. People were forced to work in horrible conditions, and big factories meant more people needed to work long hours for a low pay. Robert was disgusted when he saw this, so in 1799, him and his business partners bought the New Lanark textile mills. When they bought the textile mills not only did they improve working conditions, but Owen also set up schools and built housing for the workers at the mill.
