Mythology is a collection of myths especially belonging to a particular culture. Some very popular mythology comes from the Greeks and the Romans. Greek and Roman mythology has affected Greek society because it showed the Greeks how things came to be and how things work. It also influenced our society because a lot of words and sayings that we say, are Greek words.

Mythology influenced Greeks by telling them how things happened. One example is how the four seasons came to be. Legend has it, that Demeter, the goddess of grain, and her daughter Persephone lived together happily. But one day, Hades, the god of the dead, kidnapped Persephone.
