They even caused the Byzantine political unit to not recover. The Crusades even caused the relationship between Jews and Muslims to worsen. The Crusaders acts were also negative because they didn’t just destroy cities and communities, they also destroyed empires. The Crusades caused so much destruction to cities and communities, and also cost many innocent lives lost. They even fought for no reason, but to take their fury out!
World War One was a time of struggle in Europe. Many factors lead to great tensions in Europe, enlarging the need for a war. World War I was immediately precipitated by the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary by a Serbian nationalist in 1914. There were many factors that had led toward war. Most of these causes and events are classified into five main themes:
The Gypsies, most like the Jews, were moved by Nazis to unusual areas, and almost the entire race of Gypsies in Eastern Europe was wiped out. Hitler considered the Jehovah’s Witnesses to be a threat because from the very beginning, this strong group of Christians believed in no other God than Jehovah (“The Holocaust: Non-Jewish Victims” 2). Hitler chose different ways and means to persecute these different
Even with this reputation, it’s not the only thing they did wrong. A different reason why the Crusades were negative is because they would kill the innocent. In Document 7, it states, “-the crusading knights were often abused and co,,ottoes atrocities against Eastern Orthodox Christians, Jews and Muslims in the areas through which they passed.” This “-made them hated by all groups throughout the region. This is important due to the fact that they’re killing innocents. They killed those who were bystanders.
These people tried to appeal to god by committing different acts for the forgiveness of god. The Flagellants were very anti-Semitic, meaning that they did not like Jews. They were not the only people that were anti-Semitic because people all across medieval Europe had already believed that Jews were the cause of the black death. Many Jewish homes were born, drastically changing the life of many people. The pope disapproved of the flagellants and the flagellants disappeared after 1349(Edmond).
In history, Christians held Muslims to a threatening status before the crusades even began. In fact, the chances that the Christians met Muslims greatly improved their overall idea of them. During the crusades trade wasn’t allowed to be exchanged in fear of the Christians that would be excommunicated for associating with the Islams, even though trade still continued throughout the Crusades regardless. Politically the religious impact from the Crusades was in the massive expenditures that created an overwhelming effect on European politics. The crusades had massive armies that needed to be transported across extensive amounts of land which costed large sums of money.
Several factors prompted this decline such as: several economic problems, the rise of other trade routes, the European hunger for expansion, and weakness in the Ottoman government Furthermore, the Ottoman Empire was both politically and militarily strong, yet, it was too traditional and could not keep up with worldwide changes and modernity through time. Europe and the West were rapidly moving forward innovatively while the Ottomans stayed in their place for too long. All these problems led to the empire being less centralized in Europe. Simply, the Great Powers of Europe took advantage of this situation and allied to completely end the rule of Ottomans. To further affect the empire, European powers chose an Ottoman strength and turned it into a weak point.
The hate grew even stronger on November 19, 1938 when the Nazis destroyed every synagogue or Jewish owned store in Germany. Hitler’s book Mein Kampf became propaganda which allowed him and his National Socialist Party to rise to power. The Nazis also had an influence outside of
The Holocaust is notorious to people for Hitler murdering Jews, but that is not the only reason. If looked into deeper it is realized that Hitler was a mastermind who created chaos and fear in the whole world. It is written in history and will never be forgotten.Because Hitler was anti semitic and had a very high power over the Nazis, together they killed millions of people during the Holocaust. Hitler had been very antisemitic and thought everyone who did not have
Faith influences everyone; whether it be faith in a god, a person, or one's own self, faith is ever present. It is one of the most powerful things in all of history; it migrated thousands of people, killed millions, and influences laws in every society. During World War II, the Nazi party of Germany killed up to 6 million people of the Jewish religion. Some of these Jews maintained their faith while they were being killed, some started to break from it, and many lost it completely. If their god was the reason they were being persecuted, how could they have faith in him?
The World War I is the most damaging war in the history in which many people were killed, in which Europe is divided into many different countries. It was the war between Central powers Germany, Austria-Hungry and Allies Great Britain, Russia and Italy but also many more countries were involved into the war. World War I bring many outcomes like nationalism and militarism. The advanced technology and many more advanced weapons were used in the war. America’s role in the war was only to export useful weapons, clothes and shoes into the war, but after US merchants was being killed, America enters in the war to support Allies.
Von Galen began declaring concerns and writing pastorals, which generated friction among the bishop and the National Socialists. During the summer of 1941 that the friction between von Galen and the Nazis peaked. After a week of traumatic bombings combined with the Gestapo exploiting nuns and priests, the 63-year-old bishop felt obligated to intensify his protests in a big way. Then, he fiercely pointed out an assortment of malicious actions executed by the Gestapo and harshly accused them of abusing their power, causing excessive distress to the people of Germany. Von Galen forcefully called for a true justice for all in Germany.
“Historians have viewed the Crusades as a mixture of benefits and horrors” (History World). From 1095 to the 1500 's, crusading littered Eastern Europe. Muslim forces had occupied over two-thirds of the ancient Christian holy land, and the Christians of Western Europe were ready to fight to take it back (Britannica). Everyone, from the poorest serf to the richest noble, wanted to take a piece of the fame and fortune that crusading brought. Mix that desire with widespread religious zealotry, and one has a recipe for four centuries of total war.
The fighting began because of aroused suspicion. The two main religions at the time were Christian and Muslim. The two religions were suspicious of one another mainly because of the Crusades, and the persistence of the Spanish Christians that led to the recapture of Spain from Muslim control. Due to the fact that both Christians and Muslims saw disease as a way of God punishing them, the individuals of both religions accused the other of being the cause of the Black Death when it destroyed their people. As well as all this, the Jews were being tortured.
This was a major contribution to the defeat of the Aztecs. Killing thousands of people, whether they themselves or the citizen from their neighboring cities, this evidently couldn’t be good for the society. By giving sacrifices to god from their own people, was rapid, causing their population to substantially decrease, on top this, the ritual led to the hatred of other surrounding people. The powerful city of Tlaxcala was one of them. Many of their own soldiers have been killed and sacrificed, this rage of anger led the Tlaxcala to join the army of the Spaniards, which ultimately created a powerful force.
