The influence of latin, greek, and roman culture is everywhere in today's society. Majority of english words come from latin words, the scientific terms for animals also comes from latin. Ancient greek stories are still enjoyed today and teach us important meanings. The ancient greek gods represent things and traits in our daily life. Like Zeus who is the god of rain and sky and is the most powerfulest of god.
Around 700 B.C, the Etruscans brought West Asian ideas about architecture to Italy and they taught these ideas to the Romans. Romans don't have much Etruscan architecture left but lots of their underground tombs do survive and some traces of their temples. Ancient Roman architecture and technology was very important to the Roman way of life.The first technology that ancient Romans used for architecture were hammers, clay to build wedge and ink.Today we still use ink and we use paint. Most of the building structures, mechanics, crafted structures were really famous around the world. Examples of Roman technology would be bridges, roads and military technology.
Out of the two civilizations Athens and Rome one clearly had a better citizenship system. Rome had a better system of citizenship when you compared the definition of citizenship to that civilization, their rights, and responsibilities. Rome 's definition was much more generous when they gave their citizenship. Document A showed that free native-born adult males, free native-born adult females, free native-born male children, female children, and sons of freed slaves could get citizenship in Rome. In Athens they only allowed free, native-born adult males to get citizenship.
Discussion Question 1 The Phoenicians and Hebrews both played a big part in shaping the development of world history. First off, the Phoenicians were the ones who developed the Phonetic alphabet; the same model of alphabet that we still use to this day. Not only was it used for English, but other languages adopted it as well. The Greeks modified the Phoenicians alphabet for their language, the Romans based off of the Greeks, and our English is the same script that the Romans used. They also introduced the growing of grapes to many new places in the Mediterranean, which became a large part of the culture there.

Many east coast schools were built using Collegiate Gothic styles because of the time period they were built in. A number of the schools were in fact built during the Gothic movement that began in the late 1740s and continued to grow rapidly in the early 19th century. Many of the universities that used this design were built during this movement which had a large influence on their architectural decisions. The Gothic revival had connotations of politics, religion, and professionalism. These two designs have many differences, for example, Romanesque styles use separate compartments while Gothic uses unified compartments.
American culture, one of the most diverse and unique cultures in the world. Unlike other countries, who may have been building their culture and government for so long and kept it that way for centuries, Americans are always welcoming in different ideas and adding it to their culture. Two of the biggest contributors within American culture and government is the English, who settled many colonies all throughout the United States. The other contrubitor was Native Americans, who were here before any of the others. Both built from ancient civilizations, and were a complete concrete foundation for many of the things Americans do today.
The Ancient Egyptian medicine was some of the oldest ever recorded. They also had advanced medical practices for their time, including surgery, and even dentistry. They also had very good reasons and myths for astronomical events and also used astronomy in their daily life. Thanks to the translations on the rosetta stone, archaeologists were able to decode ‘Egyptian Medical Papyri”. They also were able to decode hieroglyphics written on walls explaining the Egyptian calendar and Egyptian myths, uncovering lots of information explaining the Egyptians technology, and beliefs.
How far can a person’s ego and ambitiousness go? Roman emperors’ engineering abilities were so precise and always had great purposes, but those features are not only the reason their huge projects were so successful. In the video “Rome: Engineering an Empire” talks about how the Roman emperor’s ambitiousness and egos were able to construct such incredible buildings like the Colosseum (70-80 CE), the Pont-du-Gard aqueduct (16 BCE), temples, roads, the Roman Pantheon (118-125 CE), the Hadrian Wall (128 CE), etc. It is clear how the power of these emperors can make such hard engineering projects so quick and at the same time so precise, with no errors. For example the Vespasian's Colosseum, the world’s most famous arena, was built by more than 12,000 men and it took them 8 years to finish.

The Romans became such a powerful civilization, firstly, because of its location, Italy, between other powerful civilizations and right on the Mediterranean Sea. Secondly, the location of Rome gave the civilization access to an abundance of resources and thirdly, great leaders such as, Julius Caesar and Augustus Octavian who started to build Rome as a great Empire and city
Roman influences are visible all around us today. One of the most important lessons that our culture has taken from ancient Roman would be our roadways. Romans were the first to use roads that gave our society the formula for construction that allowed rainwater to drain off. They used numbered signposts every Roman mile, which indicated such things as the distance to the next town and which construction team had built the road.
They influenced many cities with their arches, ramps, columns and pyramid shaped ziggurat (Document 1). They also developed the world 's first known form of writing called cuneiform. They used clay tablets to write on (Document 1). Uruk is one of the most important cities in Ancient Mesopotamia. The reason for this is because, the origin of writing originated here.
