Many things effected the classical ages. The five classical ages being compared and contrasted are Greece, Rome, Han China, Gupta India, and Olmec. The size of territory and religion effected the legacy. Each age was impacted on either mathematical and scientific theories or their practical technology. Most classical ages had monumental buildings or important things. Each classical age is unique in its own way.
Out of the five classical ages, Rome had the largest territory. Rome was able to have to biggest territory because they worked hard to spread their culture and expand their area. Olmec had the smallest territory. They eventually died out because they were not strong enough. No one knows what happened or why it died out. The size of the territory does effect the legacy size. Each age had it religion: Greece had many gods who behaved in humanly ways, Rome adopted the Greece gods but changed and added to them and also adopted Christianity, Gupta India was based on Hinduism and made it more personal, Han China adopted ethical systems of Confucius and Olmec worshiped Jaguar spirits. Religion has an impact on the way Classical the Ages lived. Religion effected the laws of the people, each religion has their own laws and rules to follow. Religion effected the way these people live, the way the people lived effects the territory and the ability to expand.

Arguably the most dominant empire throughout history was the Roman Empire due to their capability of conquering land. Being triumphant during battle required an effective strategy. Romans mastered taking land during siege warfare. However, there were many moving pieces that were involved during a siege.
Classical Athens and Han China are different from each other by its size and scope, the types of government, and how philosophers influence their societies. Athens was located in modern-day Greece next to the Mediterranean Sea. China was located in East Asia next to the Pacific Ocean. One factor that distinguishes Athens and Han China are their size and population.
Religion and its various ideologies played a key role in advancing the authority of the Ottoman and Catholic Europe; it also influenced the way they confronted outside powers and people from other religions. The Ottomans where an Islamic ruled empire which brought about a certain ideology that gave them the God given rights to the earth. Catholic Europe also had this ideology from where God gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven and endowed upon them earth as well (Matt 16: 19). The catholic church in Europe seemed to have their hands in the cookie jar of European Medieval Government and some what controlled the kings and nobles.
Changes Throughout the Classical Era in India There were two major empires that dominated India during the classical era. These empires made enduring contributions to the India and other countries, empires and societies around the world. But what were the characteristics of these empires that were either maintained or changed that made the classical era so memorable? The Mauryan empire was founded around 324 BCE by Chandragupta Maurya. The empire was easily able to gain and maintain the land that they had conquered throughout India.

Rome started its expansion in the Latium, the region in which the city of Rome is located, and by 220 BC, they had colonised the whole actual Italian territory. By 140 BC, the actual Greek territory was theirs, and by 117 AD, the Roman Empire was at its territorial apogee, under the reign of the Emperor Trajan.
Three things that affected these periods were the classical heritage of Rome, Christian beliefs, and Germanic customs (slot notes). The Middle Ages are best described as the Dark Ages, The Age of Feudalism, and the Age of Faith. These three ages best label the middle ages instead of the golden age, because the rise after a decline is more important than a golden age.
The Chinese and the Greeks were influenced immensely by all the features of the land and the resources that the land provided for them.

During the classical period, many things were invented that still influence our world today. Many great inventions were improved, and sometimes wiped out completely,but a few survived, Such as, the calendar, roads, and form of government. One influential innovation is the calendar (Doc.4). This was invented by Pope Gregory in the Middle Ages(Doc.4).The calendar helps us know, when to wear coats or shorts. It helps farmers know when to plant and harvest.
On the contrary, Athens was heavily art focused as it is seen in their sculptures which reflect balance, proportion, and perfection while in the Gupta Empire making discoveries was a main goal, as they discovered the earth was round.
