The United States was born from a fight. From 1775 - 1783, the colonists fought British to be able to “forge their own destiny.” Since then, The U.S. has been involved in many conflicts and wars. No matter who wins and who loses the war, it usually makes changes for both sides. The United States has had many changes over the years after war. The U.S. had been moving toward civil conflict for a while. There was lots of differences between the geographical differences between the states caused tension. In the south, they used a lot of slaves as laborers. Some people could have up to 300 slaves working in fields. This didn’t rest very well with the Northern states.
