During WWII the U.S. homefront was impacted drastically due to the U.S. citizens lust to win the war by aiding and supporting the soldiers for their basic needs. As war was looming in Europe with the Nazis and Axis powers mighty growing, the United States wanted to stay isolated an followed the belief of Isolationism, America’s longstanding reluctance to become involved in European alliances and wars. In fact Japan was growing increasingly powerful and were looking invade British Colonies in Asia, so FDR began putting economic pressure on Japan. War bonds are debt securities issued by a government to finance military operations and other expenditure in times of war. Buying a bond helped the U.S. government pay for food, ammunitions, weapons to fight in war. If citizens couldn’t fight in the war it was encouraged that they pay for war bonds with their hard earned money, 134 million Americans were asked to purchase war bonds to help fund the war. So they did and 85 million Americans purchased bonds totalling $185 billion. Once someone bought a war bond, after the war they would be paid with interest. (Doc A). The U.S. citizens buying a war bond coincides with the preamble goal of promote General Welfare and the core value of Morality and Humanitarianism. Promote General Welfare means elected officials concerns themselves with duty to provide for the basic needs of the citizenry and also to respond economic needs, social needs, and needs for entire nation to prosper to when necessary. The core value of Morality and Humanitarianism can be defined as Americans view world as right and wrong, and Americans believe in providing for the less fortunate. War Bonds go along with both of these because the Americans gave back to the soldiers and their needs to help the entire nation prosper as a whole. In March 1941, United States President Franklin Roosevelt passed the lend-lease bill. This “removed the dollar sign” and modified the American Neutrality Laws. Roosevelt agreed to lend or lease United States supplies if after the war, we get the munitions back. However, this bill was greatly debated among Americans. A few months later, Hitler attacked the USSR.
They helped buy tanks, guns, anything that would help the soldiers win the war. In December 7,1941 Japan had attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, and Japanese Americans were taken their rights away. Sent to camps all over America where they had to live. Charles Lindbergh opposed America getting involved in WW2. Even though Charles opposed America getting involved, War Bonds supported the U.S during the War and it brought achievements.
War Hawks were members of Congress who put pressure on the 4th president of United States James Madison to declare war on Britain, which resulted in the War of 1812. They helped convince James Madison to go to war with Britain and tried to go to war with France as well. One of the War Hawks was Henry Clay, who thought war was the only way to stop the presence of British. The War Hawks helped create a war that no one won in the end. The War Hawks wanted to go to war with Britain and France, but just went to war with Britain due to a stronger hatred toward them.
These war bonds would help raise money for more planes, guns, and people. America was using propaganda to win the war going around this time. When the US realized they were running down on equipment as well as money, they had to think of strategies of getting money. They started to sell war bonds. These war bonds were bought by the citizens.
The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising that took place in 1898-1990 from the Chinese society against U.S Foreigners and as a result, the United States interfered and their interference was backed up with reasons and and resulted in many outcomes. To begin, During the Great War, the U.S. was in an economic slump, and the war was a means of jumping out of this recession. The U.S. merchants began trading arms with the Allies, especially Britain. To stop this, Germany initiated the Unrestricted Submarine Warfare policy. Unrestricted submarine warfare meant that whenever German U-boats saw ships or vehicles which were not under the control of the Central Powers or were believed to carry goods for the Allies, they destroyed them.

The United States and Japan fought in World War II during 1941 to 1945. Japan planned to expand their land and gain resources- which led them to invade China whom was an ally of the U.S. In result, the United States cut off the supply of oil to Japan. On December 7th 1941, Japan’s air force did a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor because that is where their military base is located.

In World War 1 a lot changed for the United States. One things that changed was their foreign policy. We know it changed because they went from a period of isolationism to being involved in world affairs. We are going to look at how the war changed American society, why they entered the war, and the foreign policy change. During World War 1 a lot changed about American society.
In the early 1900’s European countries began competing and with that they were also building strong army’s and navy’s. After a while, the United States got involved and were in need of the people’s support. It took convincing but once people got on board with the idea of going to war, war fever in the United States was at an all-time high. The United Nations had not yet been established which meant conflicts were not getting resolved. This was unlike anything the U.S. had done before.
After the end of World War 1 in 1918, the US declared a policy of isolationism. Isolationism is a policy of non-involvement in other countries conflicts and politics and specifically for the US, non-involvement in European affairs. The US implemented this policy by denying the Treaty of Versailles in a vote of 39 to 55 in the Senate and consequently, did not join the League of Nations. This policy brought with it both positive and negative effects on the US. One positive effect is with isolation, the US can avoid the costs of dealing with conflicts in Europe and can avoid the negative effects on citizens.
The main point of the Declaration of War Speech was that German submarines were around and in American territory. This was considered war against all nations and to mankind because of the imposing nature of the act by the Germans. At the time, President Wilson’s reason for declaring war was to make the world a safer place for Americans and because of the need to make
