For instance, a large number of America's men were serving abroad in the war, and along these lines not able to maintain their occupations in the manufacturing plants. With a specific end goal to fill the opportunities, organizations permitted ladies to work in already male just employments. Ladies started rushing to processing plants, and working in commercial enterprises with a specific end goal to bolster their families while their male relatives were away at war. These included an increased military presence and higher taxes to support the military preparedness, along with political rallying not previously seen around national support for involvement in the war. The Selective Service Act of May 1917 was the first time American men had to register for military service, and it was also during this time the government first used propaganda to promote the war effort. Additionally during this same period, women were allowed to vote, and Americans were encouraged to spy on their neighbors and report any acts that may be detrimental to the war effort. America’s involvement in World War I was by far the most impactful on the lives of Americans than any previous wartime involvement, and it was the beginning of many more changes for the American people.

War profits that were invested into the industrialization, helped the economy become stronger. However, industrialization was insanely horrible for the United States during 1865-1900, for the reasons of working conditions, corruption and the boom and bust cycle. The working conditions in the factories, that the workers faced were scandalous. These horrible working conditions resulted in the workers performing strikes because of unhealthy environments, low wages and overcrowding.

World War One, commonly referred to as the Great War, was the first war between many Euro-Asian countries, as well as American countries which began in June 1914 and ended in November 1918. Historians have long questioned the absolute cause for this war, having since pinpointed it on the assassination of the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, Archduke Franz Furdinand. The Austro-Hungarian government blamed the death of the archduke on Serbian secret society known as the Black Hand. At this time, there was a nationalist movement in Serbia which caused their government to become unstable. Countries began to become influenced by the assassination and the declaration of war on Serbia in 1914.
