But sometimes they couldn’t control themselves and went for it too much. Tasnim Ahmed, wrote “However, if one must constantly justify oneself for partying and feels compelled keep partying because of social norms, then it’s more harmful than beneficial.” (2013). Most of people went to party for having fun and a way to build their friendship or relationship, but some of them are going in the wrong way. Parties are most obvious arenas for socializing, but they aren’t the best place to cultivate for building a friendship. They should responsible about what they are doing and at least they 18 years old so they could control their emotion.
This allows for the oxycodone to enter the bodies system rapidly. Ultimately, snorting the crushed pills result in overdose, which creates the high feeling for the user. After snorting the crushed oxycodone, the next step the users in the study took was injecting the crushed pills into their bodies. As a result, the people’s desires were not fulfilled as their tolerance level increased. Heroin was the final step in many of the user’s addiction, either ending in death or overdose (Dertadian, George C., and Lisa Maher 102-04).
With the increasing amount of reality TV shows, serious problems have made their appearance unto the “real” world. These kinds of shows have been affecting the society in a way that could be an adverse effect especially for teenagers. Although reality TV shows are now a colossal part of the media and its culture, they work as negative factors in a society and watching them should be discouraged, for the common themes of the show are highly aggressive, provide inappropriate education, and its extent of creating racial stereotypes has become stronger. Despite its negative effects, reality television show can be positively influential for its participants as well as young
In modern time, it is completely different due to the fact that we have technology and the media controlling people’s minds. In this current era, teenagers make fake friendships by 'befriending ' strangers online. Media and the amount of followers are more important to most teenagers as opposed to true friendship and people who are always there for you. It is not always the case, some do find true friendship more important than the amount of followers or likes a person can get on your social media account. Most teenagers participate in such things like this because the idea of fitting in is really important when it comes to this stage of life.
Are actors and professional athletes overpaid? The film industry and professional sports are regarded to be the most profitable business sector in the present scenario. The professional artists and film actors earn millions of dollars due to their talent.many people might have had a dream to be popular and earn more like they do. Despite the fact that their profession is not an easy job that could be done by common people, they are more prone to criticism resulting from their overpaid work. However, the perception on whether the professional artists and actors are overpaid or not is still a matter of concern of a majority of people.
In conclusion, hands down, Elvis Presley was the most influential person in American society. He had a large impact on the gap between teenagers and their parents. He defined rock music which we still hear all the time in society today. And, without him and his music some people might have put up even more of a fight when the integration laws were
For better or for worse, people often regard teenagers as extremely emotional. Though some may claim that this is simply a stereotypical assertion, scientific evidence exists that supports the widely-accepted claim. For
Prescription drug use has been on the rise over the past several decades. Many young adults experiment with prescription drugs, often believing that this is a safer alternative to other illicit drugs. This assumption is false. Prescription drug use can rapidly develop into emotional and physical dependence as well as addiction. Second to marijuana prescription drugs are now the most common illicit drug used by young adults to get high.
Everyone has heard that going to college is the best thing that someone can do for themselves. While many people do make jokes about how college can be overwhelming and cause people to become emotionally and physically ill, going to college has its benefits. Yet despite the benefits that college offers the question of whether or not college is worth it and or actually necessary has always been in the back of the mind. With the rise of college dropout entrepreneurs becoming billionaires like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or ordinary people becoming stars and viral sensations over night, is making people question whether they should drop out or even attend college. In youth one has always been told that they must attend college in order to escape poverty
As of recent, the war on drugs has been a very often discussed topic due to many controversial issues. Some people believe the War on Drugs has been quite successful due to the amount of drugs seized and the amount of drug kingpins arrested. I believe this to be the wrong mindset when it comes to the war on drugs. The war on drugs isn’t a winnable one so we must do all that is possible to assist those who struggle with drug addiction and decriminalize small amounts of drugs. These minor changes in the way we combat drugs will create significant change and have lasting effects.
A sensitive society has its difficulties for people to even speak out against the issue of bullying, without being interpreted a different way than its original meaning. Bullying and harassment have been a noticeable problem among students in schools worldwide, and still social acceptance and acknowledgment is a continuous issue. Teens are often picked on because of their sexual orientation/preference, appearances, and many other physical or mental factors. One of the main reasons that bullying and harassment is so prevalent among the teen- aged group is because it is so easy for that age group to succumb to competitions within the group as to whom is the coolest. Additionally, what comprises and qualifies as cool is predecided and made a
“Addiction is a chronic and compulsive dependence on a substance such as alcohol, drugs, or nicotine” (“Addiction”). Addiction has become a significant issue across the nation and has become a very controversial topic among many. Addiction is a simple process that many don’t even see happening until it is too late. The way the human brain is structured it will do whatever it takes “to ensure that individuals will repeat behaviors necessary to survival and well-being” (“Addiction”). Addictive substances stimulate the brain to produce more dopamine and it tricks the brain to create feelings of well-being.
I also don’t think it’s fun to be incapable of walking or talking correctly. Many people suffer from addiction to alcohol which is a terrible disease to even be around, since it affects everyone around that person. Marijuana can even be used to help someone stop drinking alcohol, making the withdrawals more bearable and to keep their mind off the urge to drink. Recreational marijuana use is illegal and I can see why, many people misuse marijuana. I believe that in this day and age, medical marijuana shouldn’t be frowned upon as much when there has been a lot of research into the medical purposes behind it.
Many people, like Brett Stashak, have gotten addicted to these drugs after a few uses (Stashak 2014). Users like Brett experience a short-lived happiness when ingesting a painkiller such as hydrocodone or Oxycodone. These prescribed medicines are highly addictive and can cause serious health issue if the addiction is not treated. The long-term use of painkillers can lead your body through physical and mental health issues depending on the drug, like any addiction (“Painkiller Addiction”). “I started off by taking them by mouth and after about three years I began to snort them,” said Stashak.
A high school sophomore named Collin Palmer composed a letter disagreeing with Deb- orah King’s predominant argument that we shouldn’t go overboard with celebrity obsession. He claims that “...it’s only human nature” (1). I agree with Palmer on several of his notions. How- ever, celebrity obsession has gotten out of hand and impacts us negatively. People mirror the ac- tions of celebrities with bad reputations.
