Computers are an integral part of our society that sometimes it is difficult to imagine life without them. Technology is advancing at an astounding rate. Now the computers have changed completely and they are far faster and smaller in size than they used to be. ABACUS: Abacus is one the earliest machine designed to help people with calculations which are still being used some 5000 years after its invention. It is made of beads and rods It is mainly used for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. ABACUS itself does not help to calculate it is simply a device for helping human beings to calculate by remembering what has been counted. These computers required a lot of space that was most probably equal to a room also these computers were very expensive to operate and in addition to this they used a lot of electricity. They also generated a lot of heat for which there had set many fans reduce heat. First generation computers relied on ‘’machine language’’. The program on these computers used to written by a single person. Also the output was also used to read by the same person its language is the lowest-level programming language understood by computers to perform operations and they could solve only one problem at a time. It would take operators days or even weeks to set-up a new problem. Its output used to come in the form of punch card and there was a specific person to read the output. So basically it was not much good therefore second generation computers were introduced which I will now discuss below SECOND GENERATION
