There’s a woman in my life whom I greatly admire, her name is Alaura Harper. She has been my boss for a little over year in total now. Within this short and fast year I have learned so much and a great majority of it I can thank to Alaura and her hard working outlook on life. She is comparable to a mother, older sister, and good friend all wrapped up in one. She is the most hard working lady I have ever met. Whether it comes to her running the pizza shop or her journey with weight loss, all I have ever witnessed is this woman achieve greatness. She has a sense of humor to her that makes working for her fun, but don’t be fooled she is an intimidating girl. Her being like that has pushed me to try and be the hardest worker I can be, and although I might fall short of that I still strive to get there so that I can make her proud. Her partner in business and life is Shawn, whom I tend to relate to more because he is a goofball like me. I think this balance in the shop is very important because we need one fun boss and one who I try and prove myself to. I have never witnessed someone work so hard in my life. I know that I can be a goof at work and mess up sometimes, and when I let her down I feel as if I am letting down my mom. But every single time the store gets crowded and busy I am happy to have been trained under such a good hand. I used to feel as if I was good for nothing and Alaura pushing me harder and harder at work made me feel like I was worth something. This quote shows that even though she was embarrassed about her job she still worked there because she knew she needed to provide for her family. Throughout the book Mama has to learn how to be the main provider and leader of her family, while Papa is away and while he is unemployed. This was difficult for her because previously Papa was the breadwinner of the family and she was a housewife. Mama also had to give up her pride doing things she would not have otherwise, to save Papa’s own

One quote she gave me this past week, strongly stood out to me which was; “I could share all that I have done and the accomplishments that currently make up my resume, but I believe what truly matters at the end of the day is the question, "did I love others today? " Love 's root is not a feeling, it is an action. It can be shown through a variety of simple ways, such as the sacrifice of my time or a completion of a task for another. And when you can show this way of living life to another and they take it on for themselves, this is what I call success.”. It is so obvious especially in this quote that she determines success different from the rest of us.

We both come from families with critical financial needs and both of us have parents who have high expectations for us. My dad always tells me that I cannot work because he just wants me to focus on my education.

The goal is to allow readers to interpret significant details in the text. Skloot describes the different characters with memories from not only the perspective of the character but of those around them as well. There were three main characters in the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

Each job is important to every one else’s job. Everything must go in order from start to finish. If there aren’t carts, then there aren’t customers. It’s hard to believe that one small job makes that big of a difference. If it wasn’t for associates in each department then their all of the customers would be lost and wouldn’t know where anything was.
Imagine every person in the world having to do multiple things at one time. For example, imagine having to work on homework, but also help your friend with something important. Sounds rough, right? That's what moms have to do. Everyday when kids go home, their moms do multiple things for them including cooking, helping with homework and interacting.

Not wanting her children to be in a similar situation, she emphasized the importance of a good education to us all and ensured that this was achieved; as all of her children became professionals in various fields to include nursing, which she loved dearly. Our lasting memories of mommy are simple: she was phenomenal, a hardworking, passionate figure of strength who never waned in her support or love for God and her family, and who soldiered on, even when times were tough. She remained faithful even unto death and has left an indelible mark on our lives which will remain permanently etched. We will always remember these encouraging words that would be repeatedly echoed by mom: • Put God first in everything we do. • No matter how hard life is, there is always a better day coming.
FLHD 1500 Can One Person Change the World? I definitely believe that it only takes one person to impact the word, make a huge difference and change it a better place. That this one person even if not being able to do a lot materially to change the world, still has the power to inspire others and help that person changes the world. It may be hard to believe, but I have a strong belief that one person can set an example for others that may affect the outcome of any and every situation. I always ask myself this question and as Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” and that is absolutely true.
We go through our everyday lives performing random acts of kindness but sometimes we fail to notice them. Over the last five days, I have documented some of the acts of kindness that I already did but failed to reflect on them after. Some of the things that I noticed was the reactions people had after being nice to them or asking them how their day was going. Their reactions were mostly positive, but sometimes they looked at me kind of weird and gave me very brief answers. Not all of my acts of kindness were towards others, I added some personal acts of kindness because they helped me relax and decompress.
My mom is my best friend, my sister, and my mom; I tell her everything and she tells me everything! I am so thankful I have such a strong relationship with my mom, because some people do not have a mother figure in their life at all. My mom is my modern day hero because of her strength, generosity, and confidence. The first characteristic that makes my mom my modern day hero, is her strength.
