The most acknowledgeable dispute from the play was between the Putnam’s and the Nurse’s. Rebecca Nurse was blamed for the death of all of Ann Putnam’s children, except for one. The events also caused numerous people to be convicted of witchcraft, some of them being executed. Two of the most notable people convicted in the play were John Procter, condemned for adultery and later hung, and Tituba, who confessed, saving her own life.
The accusations caused havoc in America, hundreds imprisoned, and thousands to lose their job. The Crucible is focused on the wrongful and unjust accusations on townspeople guilty of “witchcraft” by a young teenager Abigail. If guilty, the town holds a trial, which if the accused confesses to witchcraft the accused would live; if the accused will be hanged. The accusations and trials led to twenty deaths of innocent people. These deaths are the fault of court official Danforth, integrity of John Proctor, and the lies told by Abigail are the reason these people were hanged.
The Salem Witch Trials occurred in colonial Massachusetts between 1692 and 1693, it affected the entire town of Salem, but personally affected approximately 150 accused witches (women) and warlocks (men), about 30 of which were executed. When one was convicted of witchcraft it was believed that they had supernatural powers that were given by the devil (in return for being loyal to him), to harm innocent people. As a wave of hysteria spread throughout Massachusetts, a special court was assembled to hear the cases. The first person, Bridget Bishop, was accused in and executed (by hanging) in June 1692. The local justice system was overwhelmed, in some cases, the judge sentenced them to drowning, in this method, they would throw the alleged witch into a deep pond or lake and if they drowned they were pure and not a witch, if they floated, they were a witch and would be burned at the stake.
However, in Act Three Abigail is brought into the courtroom, along with the other girls, by Danforth to be questioned about what Mary Warren had said about them all lying. She denies that she has lied about the supernatural torture she’s been through, confirming that Mary is lying and appears it had insulted Danforth when he asks her if she’s sure it 's not all imagined. In the middle of Danforth doubting her, Abigail suddenly seems to go into a trance. She is trying turn all the attention from her and John onto Mary so she won’t get exposed or in trouble. She is also doing this as revenge of Mary for turning on her and the girls, so she wants her killed for it.

Abigail Williams was the person most responsible for the uncontrollable witchcraft situation in Salem. The situation starts when Reverend Parris see the girls dancing in the woods and sees Mercy Lewis run naked.People started accusing them of witchcraft which supposedly they weren't doing. Abigail says “ Now look you.All of you. We danced. And Tituba conjured Ruth Putnam’s dead sisters And that is it. And mark this.
She was later taken to jail. This was the start of the Salem Witch Trials. More than one hundred and fifty people were accused falsely of witchcraft. These false accusations brought up executions and tragedy to families all over the
As stated in the text, “Rikki Tikki knew better than to waste time staring… just under him whizzed by the head of Nagaina, Nag’s wicked wife” (para 29). First, this evidence proves that Nagaina is evil because everyone in the garden is afraid of her and call her evil which makes her one of the villains of the story. Secondly, Rikki Tikki is not evil because he is known as the hero of the story while Nagaina is known as the opposite which is the villain. Also, Nagaina being evil proves that she was villainous which put her eggs and Nag at risk. Furthermore, Nagaina says, “You warned Rikki-tikki when I would have killed him.
