Imagine having an animal that can weigh up to 200 pounds, grow up to 23 feet and isn’t even native to America and is still harming one of Florida’s ecosystem. This is what the Burmese Python (native to South Asia) is doing to the Everglade’s ecosystem. This animal is being bought by irresponsible pet owners and when they get to large they’re being released into the everglades which is harming that environment critically. The Burmese Python will devour anything in its way it does not have any predators. The Everglades is just like the snakes natural habitat South Asia with a warm climate it didn’t take a long time for the Burmese Python to get used to their new home. Some animals are becoming extinct because of the Burmese Python. This animal is able to kill an alligator. An alligator is a massive animal and if the Python is capable of killing an alligator it could possibly eat an animal of any size. The Burmese Python is a huge threat to the Everglades animals. Not only is the Burmese Python having an effect on the animals it is having an effect on people also. In the Everglades a Burmese Python hunt is being held for 30 days. Cash prizes will be held for the hunter who catches the most amount of snakes they will receive $1500. And the hunter who catches the longest one will receive another $1000. The ridiculous method of buying and releasing and then killing a Python is not only stupid it is irresponsible of the past owner. The Everglades ecosystem is being effected terribly. Animals habitats are being destroyed and everything is unbalanced. The snake is eating all different kinds if animals. If the snake eats all the animals other animals will run out of food.
