Carrie Flesner can take her students' knowledge and either learn from it or prove it wrong both in a polite way. When talking about emerging leaders, Penn State University says, “All leaders – but especially emerging leaders – need to have the desire to learn as well as encourage their teams to learn. Fostering this kind of learning culture can only have positive effects, such as improved employee engagement, happiness, and retention.” (Leadership and Children, 2023). The reason why this is important is that it is a characteristic of leadership and a characteristic that more people should have. This characteristic can help youth have a sense that their voice matters and is heard, and then, one of my personal experiences is when she said, “I will take that into consideration,” This was important because it showed that she heard my words and learned from them, this proves why my reason of why she deserves the Jefferson award is a valid reason. Another person said this about their personal experience, my parents said, “I remember she always had her eyes on us and when she didn't she told us that she would be back in a moment.” This proves my reason because it showed that she did listen to my parents and not just me. This characteristic can have long-term effects because she is showing children how to lead people

The youth and community need leadership and strong influential leaders because without them it could lead to hard things that could affect their mental and physical health. The Jefferson Award recognizes ordinary people who have done one or more things in a community that has made a huge difference to youth or more than just youth. It could help more than just a community. Someone who I think deserves this is Luke Halverson.
“When I thought about it later, it struck me that, like that young woman, we all have opportunities to step up, to contribute and show initiative in the workplace. You don’t have to be a boss to be a leader. You can lead an industry, a company, a division, or even a project of just one-- you. When you seize those opportunities, you are leading. The more you act like a leader, the more you learn to be one.

Who you grow up to be, inspires what you will achieve. Margaret Atwood was very different from kids her age, she loved to write and explore the world rather than play with dolls. Her knowledge as she grew up helped her become a wise and profound writer. The way she lived and who she became because of how different her life was from other children’s made her want to achieve the most. Nature was one major thing that changed her life in a good way.
She was made kinder and had the desire to stick up for the less fortunate because she had to stick up for her brother. Seeing her brother fight made her inspired to be persistent even in the face of failure and adversity. In a sense, it also made her more mature. Despite this, she never lost her individualistic nature. However, during her time in college, she realized the importance of accommodating to the beliefs of others.
(Gregory, 2020). This is another example of taking the time to help kids he may not even know succeed and have a fulfilling life. This is so influential because maybe those kids don’t have that person in life to help them, and for him to take on that role for hundreds of kids is amazing. In all, he has done so much for other people, and the community making a huge difference, and impact along the

Indeed, the circle of trust leadership approach “. . . provided me an opportunity to examine the classroom failure in a new light” (Ashpole, 2016b, p.2). Another positive leadership change was the realization that distorted assumptions influence learning styles, which led to a different teaching approach.
In fact, leadership is an art rather than a science. The process of learning leadership is a hand-on experience, which focuses on practice instead of concepts itself. This course provides me a chance to gain more insight about leadership and it helps me develop my new image of leadership.
