Our one-to-one connections with each other are the foundation for change. And building relationships with people from different cultures, often many different cultures, is key in building diverse communities that are powerful enough to achieve significant goals. Trusting relationships are the glue that hold people together as they work on a common problem. As people work on challenging problems, they will have to hang in there together when things get hard. They will have to support each other to stay with an effort, even when it feels discouraging. As individuals, and in groups, we can change our communities. We can set up neighbourhoods and institutions in which people commit them self to working to form strong relationship bonds and alliances with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
There is diversity when it comes to race, age, and education. For example, my manager is a lady of color, and my assistant manager is Hispanic. All the employees ages ranges from 45 to 23 to 19, and more ages in between. Finally, our education is different. I am the only one in college while the rest of the employees were finished after high school.
Diversity helps us to understand different perspectives and allows for greater empathy and understanding. This can have positive effects on individuals' education and career prospects, as they can learn from various sources with increased comprehension and sophistication. In addition, diversity inspires creativity which improves learning outcomes across disciplines. All of these things are impacted by international involvement and without it diversity would reduce and so would our understanding. Alongside broadening our internationalism it reshapes individuals by expanding the inclusiveness of ethnic minorities.

Diversity plays a big role in my community in, St. Cabrini Nursing Home. As social workers we work in different levels such as micro, mezzo, and macro and within those levels our clients are very diverse in many different ways. Diversity comes in many different forms such as age, race, color, religion, immigration status, culture, disability ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Those are just some or the many that define diversity. Diversity impacts my community in the nursing home because in this nursing home the majority of the residents are all Caucasians and the majority of the staff members are African Americans.
Diversity is a term that we are familiar with. It describes the differences between individuals and groups in terms of culture, nationality, ability, ethnic origin, gender, age, religion, belies, sexual orientation and social class (Clarke, Mark, Pat etal.,2012). At place of work, understanding and valuing diversity makes individual to sees differences in people as valuable and potential assets, encourages open dialogue on diversity and shares personal, and writes and speaks in language that's respectful and sensitive, encourages open dialogue on diversity. Human beings needs to connect with other people in order to function naturally in the society. Communities can be found in different backgrounds, cultures and countries around the world. It is an opportunity to create an environment where all individuals can contribute their unique perspectives and experiences to the collective knowledge. By embracing diversity, we are able to push past our preconceived notions and challenge the status quo. We can create a culture of understanding and respect for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or other differences. Inclusivity allows us to see beyond our own experiences and gain new insights from those who are different from us. This helps us become better problem solvers, innovators and collaborators in whatever field we choose to pursue.

Society is fooled into believing in the applied connection among people. Benedict Anderson’s idea of imagined communities emphasizes that, “… the members of even the smallest nation will never know most of their fellow-members, meet them, or even hear of them, yet in the minds of each lives the image of their communion” (5). Members of neighborhoods, cities, states, or countries feel a sense of unity with other members for living in the same place or maybe having the same basic values, but true unity comes from understanding the similarities among each other, considering the impact a person can have on another, and caring about lives. Recognizing the importance of lives being socially intertwined is necessary to sustain a considerate society.
Diversity may mean different things to different people. To me, diversity is exactly that, being different and unique. Diversity makes the world a beautiful place to be, and full of interesting and different people. The beauty of human civilization lies in its diverse groups and cultures.
Leaders believe that advancing diversity is vital to their business because their companies need it to stay competitive, and they believed it was more vital because of their personal experiences and values. Research has shown that social diversity in a group can cause discomfort, rougher interactions, a lack of trust, greater perceived interpersonal conflict, lower communication, less cohesion, more concern about disrespect, and other problems.
