The book is fairly long(having 200+ pages) yet, it is extremely easy to read and follow along. This book compares nicely and is really competitive with books of the same genre because the book is realistic and due to that, you will learn a lot from this book where you cannot learn anywhere else. The book is also written in informal style, having short and simple sentences that are easy to follow. The prose of the book is normal, nothing too special. 12 is the age i think the book is geared to because reading this book will give you a good understanding of what bullying is like especially because the characters in this book are all 12 years old(except for the school staff and parents). However, even though the book has solutions to stop bullying, there are some things that Eric does that is exactly what parents don’t want their kids to be doing if they get

According to Griffin, he formed strategies to be unseen and undetected when walking around in crowds, “ … jumping to lots of different stations, always trying to pick a place, before I left. That I’d never jumped to before” (Gould 118). Griffin is a strong character in this novel because he has changed extremely due to Paladins that attacked his beloved family and friends. Griffin had to travel often, to escape the Paladins radar. He rarely visited his close friends because he wanted to keep them safe and out of contact with Paladins but some friends were still killed.

All books that young adults read have power. Their power results in their ability to sway and to change the reader in so many ways, not the least of these is morally. These books can create a moral sense in the young by demonstrating what is morally right and what is morally wrong. They can raise and resolve ethical issues. The reader may not agree with each resolution, but is certainly forced to think about issues he or she may never have thought about before (Smith 63).
Many people in the world would just follow what they were taught even if it’s wrong. Would you? In the novel Coffee Will Make You Black by April Sinclair, the main character, Stevie develops into a young lady who knows how to think for herself. Stevie lets her peers and family influence her physically and mentally, but over the course of the novel, Stevie learns how to resist this oppression by standing up for what she wants and her beliefs. The book sheds a tear as it is banned by administration for students to read. The Catcher in the Rye should not be banned for summer reading for incoming sophomores because of its “explicit” content. Besides, this book uses offensive words such as fuck, asshole, nigger and pussy etc. For example, in the book Arnold admits about masturbation “If there were a Professional Masturbator League, I’d get drafted number one and make millions of dollars” (Alexie 26). For this reason, the book is not appropriate for middle schools. For children, they are not capable enough to absorb these kinds of information from the book.
