The greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are driving climate change and they continue to rise. What we must be aware of the fact that they are now at their highest levels in history. Climate change also hit economy of the world. Damage to property and infrastructure during disasters such as sea-level rise, wildfires and extreme storms require expensive repair. Tourism and hospitality industries are affected. Lost productivity, mass migration of “climate refugees”, animal moving or dying out and farming industry are some of economy problems caused by climate …show more content…

Show MoreIt is evident since the advent of agriculture that human interaction has drastically altered the face of the earth. There is no doubt that human interaction is applying more and more pressure to the planet and to us humans as well, it is not only an issue of climate change. Drastic climate change can alter the world as we know it. Natural wonders, feats of humankind, and almost all infrastructure is threatened by the era we live in. In the modern age, we spend a great amount of time dedicated to discover the scope of the change humans have caused unto the Earth, it allows people to study patterns and possibilities while making observations.
Tropical rain forests, which are found in Africa, South America and Southeast Asia, have warm, humid climate and heavy seasonal rainfall (Supriatna et al. 1996; Umapathy et al. 2003). The rainy season lasts from about September to May, with average monthly rainfall between 140 and 300 mm (5.5 and 11.8 in) and from June through August or September there is less rainfall received in Southeast Asia (Lucas & Corlett 1991; Yeager 1996; Umapathy et al. 2003). Besides, tropical rain forests are home to world’s highest biodiversity including a highly complex and diverse vertebrate fauna (Harmelin-Vivien & Bourliere 1989). However, tropical rain forests are always manipulated and exploited for economic purposes (Mergen, 1981).
Health care is expensive and people can not afford healthcare. Climate change is really affecting the world of today. The ozone(a layer of gas that protects people from the sun)is being damaged by pollution. Pollution is caused by people not keeping the earth clean.
However, there are some advantages to the deforestation of rainforests. These advantages are: more usable space for growth of both communities and economy- stimulating businesses, the increase in more usable material, the increase in agricultural sites to produce more food for communities, the increase in job openings for farms, plantations, or industry sectors, the grazing of animals, and the increase in revenue across the world as the resources are outsourced to various countries and businesses (17 Important Pros and Cons of Deforestation). A multitude of gains are attained by the loss of these forests that are extremely beneficial to communities. An rapid increase in the world’s population does require an increase in available lands ready
“It is estimated that in 100 years, there will be no rainforests left. The rate of deforestation is equal to the loss of 20 football fields every minute.” (“Deforestation Facts” 1) As a result, there are fewer trees to absorb carbon emissions and groundwater, which affects climate and the water table. Deforestation is the loss of trees, usually due to manmade causes, such as urbanization, mining, logging, and agricultural activities.
Annotated Bibliography: How Climate Change Is Affecting Our Planet Controversy statement: Climate change is been debated for over centuries now. People all around the world are taking action and reducing burning fossils to minimize the gasses in the atmosphere. Many people believe that climate change doesn't exists. But there are a lot of controversial topics that proves that climate change is real. In my opinion, climate change is slowly killing us and destroying our planet.
Human activities contribute to climate change by causing changes in Earth`s atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases. Since the start of the industrial era (about 1750) the overall effect of human activities on climate has been a warming influence. The United States is the second biggest contributor of CO2 in our environment, however it is home to only 4.4 percent of the total population. In the event that everybody on the planet lived the way individuals do in the U.S., it would take four Earths to give enough assets to everybody. In many ways over time the effect that humans have on the climate is very bad and very dangerous.
Human caused climate change has been scientifically proven to be evident and is observed from the sea levels, temperature, wind, and climate changes. A substantial cause
Global warming is all about adverse climate change caused by the trapping of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere that affects biodiversity and poses a serious health hazard. Scientists have found strong evidence that human activities have caused most of the warming since the mid-1900 (“global warming”). Humans are responsible for
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
In Nigeria the effects of climate change is expected not to stop at just effecting the crops and plants (i.e the farmers), it will surely effect the lives and overall development of country. Eboh 2009 stated that the effects of climate change are projected to manifest through changes in land and water regimes, specifically, changes in the frequency and intensity of droughts, flooding, water shortages, worsening of droughts, worsening soil conditions, desertification, disease and pest outbreaks on crops and livestock. Climate change is the most rising issue of the modern world that is threatening our planet from the last few decades. In the simplest definition, the term climate change refers to the rising of the planet’s temperature, particularly an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. It should be noted that in the last few decades, many scientists and ecologists has discovered the Earth temperature is increasing at an alarming rate and has affected the planet in numerous of way. The constant change in the climate due to various causes is threatening the preservation of the Earth and its human life. It should be noted that the climate change is linked with several of the human activities that are further directed towards the global warming.
B. Thesis: The causes of global warming and climate change are because of increased emissions of greenhouse gases, and the effects of this are rising temperatures and more severe natural disasters. II. Body A. Counter Claim: Most scientist and people believe that humans are the cause of global warming because of the emissions that they put into the air, but there is a small percentage of people who think that global warming is not caused by emissions at all. Without the transpiration of trees, deforested areas become drier. Changes in weather and shelter cause deforested areas to undergo a tremendous loss of biodiversity. The scientist hasn’t even come close to testing 1% of the plants in the tropical rainforests for medicinal use, but they regularly discover species that are helpful to us the people. But, these forests and their potential benefits are looking like they may disappear by the end of this century if we don’t stop
Researches show that the average temperature of the planet has been changed during the last decades, as a result, many problems join with it and climate change is considered as the biggest problem around the world. Climate change is one of the results of global warming and it has so many negative disadvantage impacts on earth, including; increasing the events of natural
