Netflix is a DVD rental and Internet-streaming service that has the power to affect the whole world. Today, Netflix is predominantly known for its Internet streaming service, but when it was founded in 1997 by Marc Randolph and Reed Hastings it only rented out DVD's. By 2002 over 190,000 DVDs were being mailed out each day. In only three years this number would increase by more than 400%! The amount of Netflix members rose to 4.2 million people. Since then, Netflix has moved on to bigger and better things. In 2007, ten years after its founding, Netflix introduced online streaming. This allowed people to watch videos from their computer. This feature became available on many more devices within the next three years. Members could now watch movies from their TVs, game consoles, and mobile devices.
