“Prophet!” Said I “thing of evil!--prophet still, if bird or devil!” The author, Edgar Allan Poe, of the short story “ Tell-Tale heart” and the poem “The Raven” creates the characters to contributive to both mood and tone using literary elements.Edgar Allan Poe is an author known for his poetry and short fiction pieces. When Poe was 3 years old he lost his parents and got adopted by John Allan. When he became a young adult he attended to the university of Virginia. But, he left UV and joined the army. When John Allan died, Poe was discharged from the army. Even though Poe had difficulties he continued writing and publishing some of his masterpieces. Poe creates a tone and mood, using auditory imagery, characterization and repetition. To begin with, Poe has used similar tone and mood in “The Raven” and “Tale-tell heart” creating literature elements but also creating some differences in both stories.An example, of tone and mood in both stories is that he uses both characters, showing that both may be mentally unbalanced.
