School uniforms would help cultivate the attitude of students toward discipline and would help them in looking for a job and/or maintaining their jobs. This is because some companies would require their employees to wear uniforms or to follow a certain dress code. Since they are already familiar with wearing uniforms it is easier for them to follow the dress code policy of the company. With this they can have stable jobs after university and this would help in promoting discipline towards following certain policies

Consequently, uniforms do not allow you to make decisions for yourself and the decisions are made for you not by you. This can take a toll on a student’s future since they do not learn how to start making decisions for themselves. I understand how some people think that uniforms are a good addition to schools. Uniforms can help identify students during school on a field trip. In addition, uniforms can help kids focus on school work because they would not be distracted by their clothing.
The second article by Laura Clark, is more embracive towards the uniform idea, as she claims throughout the text that uniforms lessen bullying, increase the individual student’s behaviour and concentration and simply make the daily triviality of picking clothes disappear. The last article written by Suzanne Moore, shares the negative sides of wearing uniforms in school. Moore informs us how the idea restricts children and teenagers from doing certain activities and the uniform made her feel “dispirited by the ridiculousness of it” (p. 1, l. 12-13). There are plenty of reasons to why the uniform should be abolished; uniforms are expensive, many good schools don’t have uniforms and children bully each other because of their accessories instead of their clothes.
Student uniforms affect students and their sense of belonging in a variety of ways. Such as: preventing bullying, gang activity, and student discipline. In 1933 the Will Rogers Middle School in Long Beach, California, instituted a uniform dress code. The school had been plagued with graffiti and students in gang style clothing. In an effort to improve the quality of education for Will Rogers’s students, parents and faculty voted to implement the uniform policy…
Those against school uniforms make the argument that the introduction of uniforms cause many students to rebel, making a more difficult learning environment. Almost all schools have dress code policies. An argument that follows naturally would be that students will rebel against any rules set in place. In contrast, uniforms actually create a calmer, more businesslike environ-ment. As teacher Ms. Barry said, "The kids wearing uniforms are less cocky towards adults."
There are ways to better a school 's atmosphere and to correct or even eradicate certain behaviors that are plaguing the lives of children and teens alike; the path that some high schools and middle schools are taking is the implementation of uniforms. In recent years, it seems, there is a lack of respect between students and those of authority. This behavior can become disruptive to the dynamics of a classroom setting. This could be due to a number of means, from lack of discipline for unacceptable behavior, to a student feeling that they are entitled due to the clothes that they wear. Uniforms could prove useful in the reversal process of such an epidemic in today 's schools.
Why Schools Should not have Uniforms Imagine being a student, wearing the same outfit to school everyday and not just any outfit, a school uniform. How does it affect students’ academics and school life? School uniforms, often used in private schools, are gaining numbers in public schools. There is a large debate on whether school uniforms benefit or harm students.
The first reason that Blue Valley should adapt a school uniform policy is that it prevents distraction and evens out the social status between students. For example, a bulletin published by the National Association of Secondary School Principals stated that, “When all students are wearing the same outfit they are less concerned about their clothes and more concentrated on their school work.” This shows that when uniforms are implemented there is less distraction on their clothes so they are more focused on their school work. It also puts kids in a more equal social
However, some people believe that the academic advantages outweigh the lack of individuality. On theguardian.com, Chloe Spencer says, “Some people believe that a school uniform can improve learning by reducing distraction, sharpening focus on schoolwork and making the classroom a more serious environment, allowing students to perform better academically” (theguardian.com). In this situation, the benefit would be a lack of bullying based on clothing and less distractions from school work. However, not choosing what one wears takes away differences and individuality - something we’ve been taught to celebrate at an early
Two, by wearing school uniforms it can create a positive culture and climate on campus, instead of be rude, disrespectful and all riled up. Lastly, by wearing school uniforms this can end the feud between the rich and poor, because everyone would be dressed the same. So all people should start caring about what their children are wearing to school and possibly think about a school that has a good environment and have school uniforms. This matters because school uniforms will create a great environmental future for all
School uniforms give students a sense of unity because they feel like they can fit in without fear of being too different. Making a dress uniform mandatory will decrease sexual harassment, create more interesting humans and make schools safer. A school uniform would make schools safer. The idea of wearing uniforms to schools was originally introduced to reduce violence in schools in 1996 by the Department of Education (Underwood, 1).
Many students that know uniforms will be beneficially, but don’t agree with school uniforms will continue to disagree with implementing them. It can be easily agreed that school uniforms may take away their self-expression in school, but what matters more in school is the way of learning. It can also be agreed that many students do not accept the self-expression of their classmates and make fun of them. Students, parents, and school administration should be able to recognize the benefits that school uniforms come with.
This shows uniforms can remove distractions from what students wear. School uniforms create a level playing field among students, reducing peer pressure and bullying. When all students are dressed alike, competition between students over clothing choices and the teasing of those who are dressed in less expensive or less fashionable outfits can be eliminated. Research by the Schoolwear Association found that 83% of teachers
Uniforms nowadays are acting as collars to students, and schools are holding the leash. Children and adolescents in school are in that adapting period of life, they want to find out and learn about consequences on their decisions. Schools need to create an environment that encourages creativity and inspire them to break out of their shell. The tradition of uniforms is a repetitive and binding curse that needs stopping. This paper tackles how school uniforms produce more problems than it could handle.
First, by invoking a sense of professionalism, students would learn valuable lessons that are implemented in the working world. Secondly, students would be more inclined to express themselves through other ways not limited to fashion. Finally, dress codes can erase the economic and social differences among students, and invoke a sense of equality. While uniforms in high schools promise many benefits, we should not expect that they are a solution for every problem. However, dress codes in schools can go a long way toward supporting students’ achievement by providing a learning environment that encourages
Obviously, we can see that there a small difference between the school uniform and the normal clothes which are school uniform has a cheaper price compare to the normal clothes. From the financial and economic aspect, School uniform is much worthy to buy as they cheaper and this will help to reduce the pressure of their parents. If the family have a lot of children which are going to school, they can be passed down the school uniform. Next, from the sentences of Brittany Whelan (2010) and he says: ``It (school uniforms) can help them save money because they have to buy the same outfit for every day, which means five outfits that are the same, and costing the same price``. As a result, school uniforms allow college students have a less stress and have a more time for a morning routine.
