Do you really think the people of this era of modernisation are lacking creativity and communication? In my point of view, I would say no.
If you were to see the works of today, technology is by far enhancing the creativity and communication not deteriorating it. For example, video games are a form of technology that was invented by people. As you can see, it has attracted billions of people to play it, not just young children, even working adults. Now, they even have a competition offering millions to those who win. You see, creativity had managed to come this far all because of technology.
Other than video games, YouTube has become another famous impact in the modern lives. People can even make a living out of it. As an example, you have YouTube stars like Lilly Singh, Tyler Oakley, Kian Lawley and JC Caylen to enlighten people around the world. They send out positive messages through their videos and also let people experience happiness and laughter. YouTube has even brought

This is due to the young generation who focuses more on entertainment brought to them by technology rather than paying attention to their studies and interacting with society. Some really spend most of their time with technology compared to their family and this is a really bad habit. Families do manage to overcome this matter by restricting the time to use their technological devices. Truly, this problem is not initiated by technology but by the human mind. It is up to oneself to determine whether they want to interact or continue entertaining their mobile phones. This is one of the reasons why I would disagree with the statement saying that technology affects communication. Eleanor Roosevelt has once said, “One 's philosophy is not best expressed in words. It is expressed in the choices one makes and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility.” Therefore, we should not blame
Technology takes away the stress of getting to someone’s house to give them the information. In the article, “Meet Your IBrain: How Technology Changing the Way We Think”, state that, “we develop a better ability to sift through large amounts of information rapidly and decide what’s important and what isn’t- our mental filters basically learn how to shift into overdrive” (146). They believe with the help of technology we are able to receive information within a short amount of time. You may not appreciate technology and how it has made getting information out easy unless you has lived your childhood life in a village, where you have to walk for 30 minutes just to pass around information. It was very hard getting information passed around back in the days.
I believe that one other pro of the “youtube effect” is that just like Moises Naim stated in his article, When a video is posted to platforms such as Youtube, it gains more of a permanent presence with the help of bloggers and youtube enthusiasts as apposed to seeing something in the news that most people would end up forgetting about in a few days, Which brings me to the cons of the “Youtube effect”. In Naim’s article he talks about a downside to youtube and how with manipulation, it is harder to know what is real and what is not. I agree with that point because today, there are so many people that know how to photoshop and manipulate videos and photos
Turkle states that, “the mere presence of a phone on a table between them (two people) or in the periphery of their vision changes both what they talk about and the degree of connection they feel.” While this may be true, along with the other studies on how technology is detrimental to society, there as also positives aspects that contribute to society as well. “It is not about giving our phones but about using them with greater intention” (Turkle). This quote by Turkle embodies how I feel about the technology debate and the more new technology and phones have developed the more we have analyzed whether or not they are good for our society, and at what age kids should use them.
Imagine being in a room full of people, but no one talks or looks at each other. In fact, each person is plugged to a machine. This is how technology has affected society. Some people believe that technology has begun to manipulate our brains, while others claim it is taking intimacy from our relationships. The writers, Nicholas Carr and Sherry Tunkle, explain in their articles how internet use is affecting the way humans think and feel.
Technology definitely is affecting how humans communicate and interact, but that does necessarily have to be a negative thing. For instance, the popular social media application Skype, has kept over 74 million people from around the globe connected with one another. Despite humans spending much more time with their devices, like in “The Pedestrian”, many are not using this time to mindlessly stare at the television. Skype is just one example that connects people who may be a long distance apart, but will still spend an average of 100 minutes a month (“Skype Company Statistics”) still keeping in touch with one another. While some do use their their screens to block out the people around them, a majority use their smart phones and computers to keep connected with their
"Technology should make communication easier when it's appropriate," Roberts said. "But when we have access (to more direct forms of communication), we don't use it. Part of it is just that it's human nature to avoid. It's easier. " People have taken the once convenient form of communication used through a screen and swapped it out completely with face-to-face communication.
Technology on Children’s Social Development Technology The technology in the millennial generation is quite improving, increasing, developing and addicting. Technology pertains to something situated at home and academic environment (Rowan, n.d.). Therefore, it can be referred to as computers, televisions, cellphones and other electronic gadgets. Children now a day are more exposed to technology since they like to explore new things.
Not only that, technology has shaped social interaction as a whole. Being able to talk to anyone on the Earth is an important milestone and “One of the areas where computers have had the most impact on our lives is how we relate to and communicate with other people” (Stewart). In a world filled with Skype, social media, and email, no longer do people have to leave their house in order to communicate. In fact, according to a study led by John Cacioppo of the University of Chicago 's Department of Psychology, roughly one-third of romantic relations start by meeting online. This goes to show how huge of an impact technology has had on communication.
Especially when someone is trying to get school work done, if they start using their phone, then it takes them so much longer to get that work done than if they had just put the phone down and do it. Smartphones are too much of a distraction to people, and it is sometimes hard to put them down. People nowadays rely so much on their smartphones and it is not okay. For example, for directions they just use the navigation map on ones phone instead of knowing how to get there by looking at directions.
A. Now generations, almost all people own a smartphone, this phenomenon make most of them lack of communication skills. 1. According to Jasmine Fowlkes said that “social media and modern technology begin to affect their ability to properly communicate in person with peers.” 2.
Ancient forms of human communication include cave drawings, smoke signals, symbols, and carrier pigeons. During the late 1800’s, communication became more advanced with the invention of the typewriter and the telephone. Roughly one hundred years later, a military project resulted in what we know today as the internet. With a little innovation, the internet made social interactions between people easier than ever, although, the convenience may come at a cost. Some theories suggest that heavy reliance on social media for human interaction will weaken communication skills, hinder meaningful social interactions, and negatively impact personal relationships.
How are smartphones affecting the middle or high school student’s teen life? Well, in the century we live in, technological devices are considered essential. Thus, considering smartphones, many adults and children are being introduced to new relevant technological products everyday around the nation. Although of how beneficial smart devices could be, middle and high school students seem to become too dependent on their cell phones and other 21st Century technology. To emphasize, smartphones in schools are influencing young children, causing students to become less social and consequently, parents are apprehensive.
In my opinion YouTube can help establish a positive outlet for YouTube users to share ideas and form communities based on shared interests. In other words, I strongly believe that YouTube has made a positive effect on life quality. On February 14, 2005, three PayPal employees launched YouTube. The idea of creating a web page where videos could be shared was raised by the frustration Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, two of the three
This is all about the people dependence on technology can affect creativity and communication. If the people just always put their hope on the technology, we will get more lazier and this can give bad effects for our life. There are many effect if the people’s dependence on technology especially on human’s creativity and communication. First, let us discuss about the positive effect that we can get on depending to the technology. For example, our cloth now are more innovated from the past.
As technology continues to improve, the usage of cell phones continues to increase too. The increase in using cell phones over the last decade has been unbelievable; and the cell phone itself has become a common facilitate for all ages all around the world. When people hear about the cell phone, majority of them usually see the positive sides and its benefits, but ignoring the risks of this small device which isquite serious and somehow dangerous. It has bad effects on health, it is a disturbing tool, because some people talk so loud in the public places which may annoy others and also sometimes it may be the cause that we forget about some works, and etc. So, majority of people who became aware of these disadvantagesin European and American countriesbegan using their cell phones less than before.
