This was like the 1920’s as problem turned into innovation. The 1920’s was a time of advancement from new inventions used in and outside the home, to technology that changed everyday life which impacted the decades to come. The 1920’s was a decade of numerous advancements “that shaped the future and impacted decades to come” (Alchin).
It was used to connect academic institutions and Universities to a large data base. That way they could all exchange data. Video game consoles saw a huge surge in popularity in the 80s. There was a break though of great technology from 1952-1964. During this time a lot of the new technology was made to make life easier and more enjoyable. The economy was booming; new cars, suburban houses and other consumer goods were available to more people than ever before. The immediate growth in production and productivity is connected to direct job creation. An example of this is the use of job creation is seen during the 1970’s when the rate of unemployment was extremely high. Life was made easier by inventions of new forms of communications and more advanced forms of medicines. Though everyday life was made easier, new weapons and other means of devastation allowed for the horrific results of the wars that occurred. The twentieth century brought about enormous amounts of new technology, but this new technology brought about destruction and loss of human life that had never been experienced.
Technology can be defined as “the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment”. (n.d.) Therefore, when we speak of technological evolution we can say that it is an “innovation and technology related hypothesis that describes the fundamental change of society through technical development”. Different theorists have their own perspective on the evolution of technology but, although each of their views differs from another, they shared certain common features, mechanism, and incidence in technology. The 21st century is more advanced and used to help us in many ways. The two most technical advancements that significantly changed the 19th century was steam and electricity. Inventions change the way our societies function and sometimes they alter them so much that we end up modeling our world to accommodate the needs of these inventions. Sometimes these innovations impact our society so much that we couldn’t even imagine life without this invention because we’ve become so dependent on it. This invention is the car. The car has affected our lives in many ways , and one of them is that we’ve built our cities to accommodate the needs of cars by building roads in places we could have put something other than roads, such as a park or a building.
