Into the wild, work of narrative journalism by jon krakauer , depicts chris mccandless as an amiable guy who makes many friend and leave lasting impressions upon those he meet while on the road. In april the year of 1992, chris walked alone into the woods of alaska north of Mt.Mckinley .he gave $25,000 that he earned from a college scholarship to a charity . Chris then proceeded to abandon his car and most of his possessions , burned all the money in his wallet and then started a new life for himself. Later down the road chris met three other important individuals wayne westernburg, jan burres ,and ron franz. Chris met wayne westerberg at the beginning of his adventure.

He distanced his family, designed another name, and made another life as Alexander Supertramp. Many individuals call his activities narrow minded and remorseless, yet others trust that while it might have been narcissistic, it was a respectable and vital change for him. By not notwithstanding speaking with his sister, Carine, with whom he was very close, Chris made it very obvious that he would not like to be found. Chris propelled himself all through school; scholastically and physically. At that point later he drove himself to be totally confident in light of the fact that: "… it was vital for him to perceive how free he could be" (Krakauer 125).

In August of 1992, a man by the name of Chris McCandless was found dead in a bus located north of Mt. McKinley Alaska, by a group of hunters. The book, Into the wild, is written by Jon Krakauer who takes on the task of finding out who exactly was Chris McCandless. Through the book, we find out about his childhood, his school life and his travels. The book gives us a sense of who he was a person, his childhood life, and his thoughts on the world. Many argue that his death was a suicide but one can argue that his death was exactly the opposite.

Chris McCandless was a peculiar young man who explored the wilderness of Alaska. Many people would consider him courageous as he died doing what he loved, on the other hand some feel he was foolish and unprepared. Inspired by literature and seeking escape from his rocky relationship with his family, Chris wanted to live off the land in the cold Alaskan winter. Jon Krakauer explores what led to McCandless’s death and explains the actions that led him into the wild. In my opinion, Chris seemed more foolish than courageous, since he was escaping his problems back home and was highly unprepared for what he was tackling.

If Chris was going to live off the land, then why didn’t he bring the right gear for survival. People who think that Chris was idiotic claim that Chris didn’t think out his plan to go to Alaska; he was stubborn and was willing to risk his life to go to some place he didn’t have any knowledge of. But In fact, Chris did think out his plan to go to Alaska. He didn’t want any knowledge of Alaska because he wanted the raw experience. He didn’t want to know the land because Chris would’ve considered it cheating.

All over the world, people read short stories, articles, and any other books. Those having numerous genres to choose from. Some make us question the actions of an individual, some are inspired by he/she, and some kind of angry at the person or character. Into the Wild is one of those books that makes you envision what that person must of gone through to do such a risky, yet adventurous journey alone. Some may or may not have the full picture of why Chris McCandless followed through with his journey.

Chris was a multifaceted person, he had a love for nature and used that love as an escape route in order to escape his fear of commitment and being intimate with people which did not stop short of being outright abrasive towards his parents. Nature has the capability

He decides to live simply, like Thoreau, not only retreating into nature, but he also living a purer, simpler life. Without money and material goods, he is truly espousing Thoreau’s views, as he decides to not be beholden to anything. McCandless cuts ties with anything reminiscent to society, clearly viewing it unnecessary to live according to societal norms, as he believes - like Thoreau - that this makes the individual lose sight of what life is supposed to be like. Without any money, McCandless finally feels free. To focus on possessions is wrong, according to McCandless’s borrowed views on life.

He never wanted to settle down and get a job and have a family. Chris wanted to go travel and see everything he could. He wanted to do what was abnormal and do anything and everything his heart desires. In the book Chris was talking about going on his trip to Alaska and said “I was dimly aware that I might be getting in over my head. But that only added to the scheme’s appeal.

Chris McCandless might be courageous but he is also Adventurous. This is why I think Chris McCandless is Adventurous. Chris´ whole story is about him being adventurous and wanting to live his dream going north to Alaska. If

In conclusion, Christopher McCandless wanted to live the simplest life possible. The way he was raised, and how his parents were to him, just motivated him much more. To Chris it was not about the materialistic or luxurious parts of life, but life itself. Which is what drove him on his adventure into the wild.

All these attributes, whether good or bad, brought him to this conclusion of his life. When Chris was younger, according to the movie and his sister, he was instinctively leaving out on his own without warning. One time, he had been found in a neighbor's house three blocks away. This shows anyone who can conceive a proper thought, that he was an extremely adventurous person, and that he would take risks for what he wanted. He also showed that he loved being playful and outdoors when he was younger, due to how he would be as a teenager.

He wanted to go in there without really anything so that he can make things that were in the nature. “Chris didn’t think twice about risking his own life…”(Carine McCandless 128). I absolutely think that this quote about Chris is very true because he was so into finding new adventures to take, to enjoy and be happy with

Numerous People state that Chris McCandless was a very thoughtless individual who made crazy decisions after graduating college. Yet many people found his actions to be inspiring as he risked his life to flee the hectic world that surrounded him. As Chris was raised in a perfect environment, living in wealthy middle-class, His relationship with his parents was very degenerating especially towards his father after he found out his dad cheated on his mother when he was younger. This ultimately led Chris to begin his trip to Alaska so he can find his true-self and to live life how it's meant to be lived.
