Crucible Paper We all make mistakes and sometimes dwell on them but in all reality sometimes you just have to forget and live with what you have done. Sure, mistakes aren’t the best things in the world but we all make them and life is supposed to be enjoyed. It is said that life is God's greatest gift to humans but sometimes we forget and we get caught up in the routine and drift away from good. John Proctor may have done something that is not exactly good, but in the end he made the right decision and helped to end the Salem witch trials. At the same time John becomes quite protective of his wife and instantly tells her not to worry that he will bring her back soon. John shows more interest in the witchcraft business because he knows the girls are lying and he knows that Abigail has accused his wife out of jealousy. He then proceeds to make Mary Warren tell the truth upon the court, alongside his confession of lechery. Proctor's confession proves that he is attempting to change his ways. He was a liar, a cheater, and was very selfish. In the end he turned out to be a leader, a great kind, and gracious man. It is truly amazing what he overcame in this play, he gained so much mental strength from what he had to endure. He also was at ease in the end because his secret was finally let out and he no longer had anything to hide. Life can change someone and it can either make or break you sometimes but you just have to do whats right and hope for the best. Throughout this play John was a great example for real life instances. All of us have lied and done things we shouldn’t do but John overcame his old self and became a better person. He was cruel and mean and he didn’t care if he was involved or not. All that he cared about was himself. In the end he was sincere and and stood up for what was right he no longer cared about what others thought. He turned from the guy everyone didn’t like into the huge hero of the story. All of us can learn something important from Proctor's experience. Anyone can change and in the end you can always be better than you were before. Proctor was not influenced by the conflict at first he was only interested when his wife was involved. One can conclude that humans are very caring towards our family and we genuinely care more for those that are closest to us. In the end he helps them all and that is what all of us can conclude that we are all much like
