In this essay I will be looking into background of Alexandra McQueen and Givenchy and how and where they started in the fashion industry I will be explaining how their designs have influenced the fashion trends of today with their unique styles through Social media and how they have modified their collections for the mainstream retail industry.

Givenchy

Hubert de Givenchy who was born on The 21st February 1927 founded Givenchy; Hubert ended up moving to Paris, where he began to study the art’s at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. Orginally Hurber De Givenchy wanted to become a lawyer or a barrister but after completing this course he decided to pursue his dream and become a fashion designer full time. Whilst at College Hurbert De Givenchy at only the age of 17 he applied for an apprenticeship with designer Jacques Fath.
