Technology has impacted student’s education by behavior and they 're brain. Education has been an important thing for human beings because we get better jobs, but if a distraction comes and destroys it,then our brain does not fully cooperate with it. It has become an important thing in our life which can harm us and our brains. But, it also changed our daily lives and technology affects the memories towards short-term and long-terms. There has been a negative effect that teenager’s brain goes through and it does not let them think creatively and miss their brains up.
Imagine being stressed and almost failing in most of your classes, and the principal says that you will have to take an extracurricular activity. No one knows what a student is going through and how stressed they are. So they shouldn 't be made to do something, they may not want to do. It can cause a lot of problems at home, because everyone can become more stressed. Extracurricular activities after school such as sports, yearbook and student council are all something that needs to be carefully considered.
Not only does this affect society it also affects the way of learning in schools. The reasons i have picked to talk about in this paper are that people don’t live in the moment when they use technology, and that kids and teenagers do not have any or very little social skills when they talk on the phone or in person to people. People do not live in the moment anymore because of the technology that was introduced to us. People in society now would be too worried if their computers crashed or if they can not find their phone. What i mean by live in the moment is that people are too worried about if there phone is charged, or if they lost their phone they are too worried about where it is.
There have been many discussions lately about allowing students to use their mobile phones during class hours. People who argue that the use of cell phones inside classes will make students more responsible and get used to technologies, especially with the increase of modern day electronic devices. They also believe it is important for students to have their phones with them wherever they go, so they can call someone and get some help when needed. However, I think that mobile phones should be banned from every classroom, for it distracts, encourages bad behavior, and facilitate cheating. One main reason for this argument is that cell phones distract students during lessons.
Phones Can’t Learn so Why Learn With Them? Appealing to reader Background knowledge Words Cited Transition words Should cell phones really be allowed in class? Society is becoming more independent on cell phones and the technology that they come with. There is an overwhelming amount of people wanting to bring them into classrooms saying they can be used as tools for learning.Despite the fact that cell phones can be used for school work, by comparison they should not be allowed in class, because they are a distraction for students and staff, test scores and grades are higher where cell phones are prohibited, in addition teachers can’t reach the kids face to face. Of course a structured reason why phones should not be allowed in the classroom is that they are a distraction to the students and staff.
The first reason that I don’t think we should allow phones in school is because people are addicted to their phones and want to be on them instead of learn. Chris Davis says that “phones are a waste of time and energy”. Some other teachers say that this ban is one that is very difficult to enforce, because some students say that they need to have their phones to contact their parents. Also cell phones aren’t going away so we need to find a way to manage this
During school many students tend to stop paying attention to the lesson being taught. Their minds start to wonder and they don’t take in all of the information that is being taught. When told to ask questions if they don’t understand, they don’t ask questions. Homework gives students the opportunity to get the information a second time to reinforce what they heard, and if they didn’t get it or weren’t paying attention the first time, to take it at their own pace and make sure they know what they are doing. In an article from Wh Magazine states that “When children do not understand material, many are not likely to go home and try to figure it out for on their own.
Instead parents protect children from the things deemed unsuitable. Goleman is big on the idea of fueling special abilities in children to increase the emotional and intellectual intelligence of children. If not challenging children, then parents are prohibiting them. Haidt talks a lot about society has changed and because of this change children are not shown how to react to situations or to even have opinions on them. All because parents do not feel that a child should have to be faced with the realities such as death, until older.
Some people think that the government is just making the child’s life worse, but this isn’t the case. Foster care is important and can benefit children mentally, emotionally, and physically. There can be a lot of setbacks when children’s minds aren’t exercised correctly, and this is a huge problem for kids that are born into bad homes where they are exposed to inappropriate substances and are neglected. The main setback is in their speech, and this can be improved when the child is brought into a foster home. Each child is evaluated and are given therapists to improve on their problem.
Jane E. Brody who works for the New York Times gives her perspective on how technology is affecting young people from an early age. Technology in different cases is utterly addicting. There’s too much time spent looking at a screen instead of paying attention to what it can do to their health. It can cause a lack of appetite, lack of sleep and takes away the desire to want to live with people around us. These details eventually become serious problems especially when it affects a child.
