Parents always talk about them having a bad childhood and don’t want their kids to go through the same thing as they did. Child soldiers don’t even get the option to have a childhood. This is why they deserve amnesty. Kids should get to start thinking for themselves. But they are bought, kidnapped, drugged and terrorized into doing terrible things. Also, girls may not be known for fighting, but they are known for doing other things as a soldier.
At some point in time, children have the right to think for themselves. But that's is not the case in some countries. They are bought, kidnapped, drugged and terrorized into being a soldier. Choosing to be a soldier is not anyone else's decision but an individual's choice. “...they are following orders of adults rather than acting of their own free will.”(Child Soldiers, Prosecution) This shows that other

Yes, women do join as well, but they also fight for our country just like men would. In other countries, children are being used as soldiers. But these countries are using them for something else rather than killing. They use them for cooking, and sending messages. Girls have to cook for many soldiers, including their commanders. While they are going around sending messages, they are risking their life. And all they are simply doing is spreading a message. Unfortunately, these girls are occasionally sexually abused. Girls, as well as boys, should have the choice of fighting.
Although some children choose to join rather than being forced, they are doing for the sake of their family and country. This is why they deserve amnesty. They should not be charged with all sorts of war crimes while under the influence. They are forced to drink alcohol and take drugs so that they follow their commanders. Girls shouldn't be forced to “slave” for these men and boys. Parents they want the best for their kids and their childhood. But choosing to have one can be a
First of all, every male over the age of 14 was forced to “...undertake military duty” (Doc. B). All males had to join the army regardless of whether they believed in the cause or not. It seems cruel to force someone to experience all that bloodshed due to the amount of killing involved, the risk to their own life
To start off, there was never any justice done for the kids who were child soldiers because people weren’t paid for certain jobs they did because of their age. This idea was supported in the article “Armed & Underaged” by
“Tens of thousands of children are estimated to be recruited and used by armed groups. In 2019 alone, more than 7,740 children, some as young as six, were recruited and used as soldiers around the world, according to the United Nations. Most are recruited by non-state groups.” (Wuilbercq). There are more than seven thousand forty children that were child soldiers in twenty nineteen alone.
Like Beah, thousands of other children are utilized, as soldiers because they are the most valued agents for both the army and rebel groups, despite the availability to
These child soldiers are also usually brainwashed and forced to take drugs before committing violence. If child soldiers are “fixed,” they shouldn’t be punished or judged because of their acts as a child soldier. There are many reasons supporting that former child soldiers should be granted amnesty, as long as they prove that they are cured and will not continue to be violent. To begin with, child soldiers are often forced into the position of being a child soldier, and are also forced to be violent. ”Most children are forcibly recruited.”
Many young children under aged have been taken in by the government. They are being held captive tell they are drugged enough and brainwashed to go out and kill or to be killed. They are forced to train to kill under the influence of drugs and they are hardly aware of what they or doing. Child soldiers should be given amnesty because of the absents of their minds and them not being able to process what they are doing. These children are often seen as targets because they are under aged and not able to take responsibility for their actions so they are targeted to be able to kill without punishment.
The kids are victims. These kids are victims because most of them are being forced to do this. People state that child soldiers are criminals because they’re not getting prosecuted for all the actions that they are doing. But what people don’t know is why the kids keep doing all this crime in wars. According to the article “The Challenges of the African Criminal Court in Prosecuting Child Soldiers” It states that the children don’t know what they are doing wrong because they aren’t getting
The most important reason why child soldiers should be granted amnesty is because it is not their will to commit these crimes, it is simply being forced into act they would never commit unless their life was on the line. Emma Gordon, writer on E-international Relations Students says, “Children are often abducted at a young age, brutally initiated and forced to commit heinous atrocities, they are undoubtedly victims of these conflicts” (2011). Gordon uses the word “abducted” which shows that most if not all of child soldiers don’t chose to live that way. Additionally, the bulletin health
The definition of a child solider is any child under the age of 18 recruited by a state or non-state armed group and used as fighters, cooks, suicide bombers, and human shields among other things. However regardless of what role the child plays, it is a clear violation of the fourth and twenty-sixth articles. The fourth states that there shall be no slavery of any person while the twenty-sixth protects the right of people (specifically children in this case) to get an education. The former applies to child soldiers as most of them are press ganged into joining and are then treated horribly. In the book When Elephants Fight by Eric Walters and Adrian Bradbury goes into detail about the reality of child soldiers in western Africa.
Despite the fact that some people believe child soldiers are replicas of child criminals, child soldiers should be given amnesty because they aren 't morally responsible for their actions, they are forced into fighting, and the goal should be to rehabilitate the child soldiers and not to punish. First of all, child soldiers should not be held accountable for their actions during war time. While it is well known that children make imperfect decisions all the time, there is a scientific reasoning to this phenomena. Studies show that “the section of the brain known as the frontal lobes controls decision making and only fully develops well into your 20 's. Children simply lack the ability to think of the long term consequences of their actions” (Invisible Children). While if its something as simple as stealing a cookie from the cookie jar or joining the army, these
I have settled this opinion after conducting research on this topic. I have found out that child soldiers are often forced into fighting through false promises. They also forced into fighting through drugs and alcohol. The drug, often cocaine mixed with gunpowder, brainwashed the children to the point where they would rather not escape from the fear disentangle around them. I personally believe anyone who as to surrender to such fear and atrocities should not be prosecuted for the crime
Many child soldiers are born into poor families where they do not get any food, so they are encouraged to go fight because they get food and shelter when they fight in the army and children who are not forced to be soldiers volunteer themselves because they feel social pressure. Despite the fact that people think child soldiers should not be given, I believe that child soldiers should be given amnesty because they are forced into fighting, the commanders give them things that influence them to kill people, and they should not prosecuted and put into rehabilitation. First, child soldiers are forced into fighting for the armed forces. Most of the time they do not have a choice in whether or not they get to fight.
Assignment page Video Where many children all over the world merrily and freely live under the protection of the law, for others, this is a distant reality, they live in a world where they’re battling poverty, stripped of their childhood and basic human rights are expunged, they’re the innocent victims of conflict, and war is made to seem their one and only duty, not to mention that these are children no more than 10 years of age. They are put into a situation where it’s to kill or be killed. The United Nations defines a child soldier as, “Any person under 18 years of age who is part of any kind of regular or irregular armed force or armed group in any capacity.” Since the past 15 years, child soldiers are being used in almost every region of the world. Unlike most children, who go to school, they’re abducted from their families and forced into becoming a child soldier, where living conditions are beyond imaginable.
Though it is already a cruel idea for the young girls and women, many of the members were forced to substantially kill their own family members or close relatives. The article, “Should Child Soldiers be Prosecuted,” by Asena Bosnak, reads, "I was forced literally to kill my best
Thousands of innocent children must kill or be killed. Thousands of innocent children die everyday fighting a war they have no opinion on. “These children are denied education, so that they do not have the ability to choose between right and wrong and become educated on issues. The children who are abducted and used as child soldiers are abused badly and enslaved, especially because they are not permitted to leave or return home to the comforts of their family.” (Tiefenbrun, “Child Soldiers, Slavery and the Trafficking of Children”).
