Youths of Today Sculpters of Tomorrow We all have a question on How to empower the youth. Yeah! the answer is simple we let them “DO” we let them dream their life When we let our children’s dreams, voices and ideas speak for themselves the results are more powerful and more inspired. “Energetic youth, when you march towards great ambitions, progress and success, keep it in your mind that the nation’s pride also follows you”. Swami Vivekananda asserted. Swami Vivekananda birthday is commemorated as the ‘Youth Day’ of our nation. The biggest strength and resource of our country is its 550 million youth. No other country has as many youth as we have. However, most of the youth are very much interested in India’s development and progress. Having pity on him, I gave him the money and I asked him why he wanted the money. His answer embarrassed me and I felt as if I had committed a sin. He said that he was going for a movie. They even humble themselves begging. It is because of the influence of media on the youth. Today the life style of the youth is in keeping with the life style of their role models who may be cricket stars or cine actors. If we ask a youth who Bahath Singh was, he may not have the answer. But if we ask who M.S. Dhoni is or Who Ajith is, then immediately he will give us the answer. Today’s youth want to become someone else than be themselves. Enough and more awareness must be given to the youth about media so that they can use the media for valuable
Declaration of Independence When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for teenagers to become one of the same as adults. We deserve to be independent such as the adults have had their independence like the rest of the world so why can’t we have that same right. Its up to us to request that independence so that we can make a difference in the world just like any other adult can. The world should understand what we really deserve, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare their independence among us.
In a culture that increased in greed and a world of instant gratification media has and will continue to become skewed and not beneficial for the whole of
Youth enjoyed the aspect of ‘independence’. They did this by starting a wave of strikes in 1965 effecting almost every university and college. They were going around demanding more in their education and elimination of rules and restriction imposed on them. 500 million youth turned up to join forces in peace, use marijuana and listen to the artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin who idolised the use of drugs, sex and opposition to the Vietnam War. Youth movement was strong as they were all willing to cross the government, however the youth movement began to fade following a series of violent crackdowns on protesters which involved several deaths and many injuries.
This is very dissimilar to previous decades where major politicians like presidents did not lend support to the movement before. In addition, during the 1960’s, the first youth led organizations such as the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, as mentioned in (Document A), discusses how they will bring similar beliefs of Martin Luther King to the younger generations. With support of the younger demographics, the movement can spread their beliefs in new ways and with more protest and discussion to the general
It is crucial that governing individuals prioritize the well-being of youth over their fiscal, power or political conflict when those who suffer the most are struggling youth. Those who are the most vulnerable, the neediest, also have the most potential to revolutionize and alter the state of a chaos-filled, weapon-fuelled world. They are the
Chapter 1 Teen Activists All teen activists such as Alex Lin Malala and Iqbal work to help make a world a better place. That might take months or even years. We know that's a long time! Teen Activists also face challenges like, they cannot spread the word to others, they have many people stand in there way,and the reason activists do these things even though it puts there life at risk is because they want to help in ways they can. According to (Youth Activists Project), “nearly half of the world population is underage 18.
Judging someone or making assumptions based on physical appearance can never determine the environment they were raised in. Just because someone is in college it should not suggest that their family members are college educated. There are many people at The University of Louisiana at Monroe that are considered first-generation individuals. As of 2010 the National Center of Education indicated that 30 percent of college freshmen are first generation college students. First generation students are fresh to the ideal of college and they need a mental support system during so because most of them are not equipped to deal with tough situations.
Media affect teenagers the most because they spend a lot of time exploring things on it and this could harm them in a negative way. For example: when teenagers watch romantic movies, they could act differently to their love life because they got influenced by the things that they watched. Teenagers could change their behavior due to the things they watch on TV shows, movies, and videos. The young people of today appear to be excessively fascinated in viewing their most loved shows on TV or utilizing web-based social networking
This is because the content of mass media is very powerful and it has become a agent of socialization which can shape people’s behavior or even influence the ways of how people think. There are many agents of socialization that can influence an individual lifestyle and one of the agent is mass media, which means that mass media can affect an individual self-concept, attitudes, or other orientations toward life especially the adolescents. The fact that there was a time when the internet, television and cell phones were considered a necessity but now the mass media seems to be more of a commodity to teenagers, because we can see that most of the adolescents tend to spend more time on the electronic devices rather than going for outdoor activities. Based on the researched, we found out that every people in the society
If I could say one thing to the youth, it would be this: Never Give Up. Keep trying and pushing and struggling, even if you don’t know what your goal is or why you would want to achieve it. Make a point to succeed when a person says you are not capable of doing so because when you succeed you are proving not only to them that you can but to yourself. Respect the person who is doubting you because that will let them know that you are not effected by what they are saying. People will recognize you as someone who won’t give up, and they will get out of your way.
ABSTRACT “The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” Malcolm X
The media has long played a role in influencing how people construct and perceive the world. Media has influenced how people construct their thoughts, most often their perception towards someone. Youth in particular, have been presented in a variety of ways in the media. Although teenagers are portrayed differently as an individual, based upon characteristics and personality, the media is constructed to sell certain ideologies of youth or the youth culture in general to the audiences and then to the society. The media promotes both, diversity and conformity when representing the youth culture in the media but in my opinion, conformity reigns superiority.
How Do We Fight Youth Depression? In today’s world, depression is the first leading cause of adolescent suicides. It is a growing problem in our present society and is often a major contributing factor to one’s personality. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (of the US), one out of every four teenagers undergoes depression.

B. In Schools: Most individuals and organizations who champion the cause of media literacy recognize that it one of the most practical and effective ways to develop critical media literacies among the youth would be to incorporate media literacy in the school curriculum across K-12. Programs in schools can help students to access, analyse, evaluate and create media messgaes. Introducing and sensitizing them to the various issues related to media at such an early age could contribute to a responsive and healthy understanding of the media through the rest of their lives. This foundation could only be built upon in time with more access and more exposure to various media
