These coaching styles will also allow me to build rapport with James while making it easy for him to trust me as his new manager. The style sill also allows me to be able to focus on what issues James could be having that could be affecting his performance in the workplace. James also has a reputation of playing hard and now working hard at the workplace as would be expected of him and the use of the amiable coaching style will also help him learn how to care for the business and their colleagues. While using the style I will be able to help James find a way of prioritizing his relationships and responsibilities at work. The focus on relationships will help James become a better team player and collaborate better with the rest of the team members (Starr, 2017).
They should be role models for everyone to follow. Therefore, they should be courageous, trustworthy, honest and respectful to name a few. If they do not have a good character, it may cause employee turnover and it could potentially ruin the business altogether. As Hamilton (n.d.) states, leadership and employees must appreciate each other and learn to interact positively with each other (para.12). This all starts with hiring persons who have good character and exercise those positive traits every day.
Having regular focus communication helps build trust for a good working relationship. As leaders being available and engaging in focused communication on a regular basis makes the employee feel comfortable enough to address issues and concerns that may arise. As D’Aloia (2015) stated in her article, “7 Tips for Positive Employee Relations”, leaders should be consistent with decision making and have employees “look to them on a human level and not as just a corporate suit”. She makes the point that the employee should view the manager as a
For example, teamwork is very important in my career. I have to cooperate with my co-workers to get work done. In this case, being humble can make the cooperation successful and easy. I will have to listen and respect the opinions of others and have a humble eagerness to accept and learn things from other people. We cannot have a negative attitude, demeaning thought or act in an abusive toward others.
Such a person is supportive and understands the real strong professional traits of each of his or her subordinate,They listen to what staff have to say, not only listens, but actually cares about implementing good ideas, They encourage personal interaction, and cares not just about the work completed but also about the team in general. “Bad” bosses may be highly competent in the latest theories regarding their field of work, but it is the skill to manage personnel, to inspire rather than to enforce, which makes yet another difference between the good and the bad boss. Even though it is important for a manager to care about the tasks his or her team must accomplish, a good manager will always consider the capabilities and skills of his or her team first. Instead of blatantly demanding results without regarding how people in the team feel. This does not mean that a good boss is one who is nice and tender to his or her subordinates, and a bad boss is one who demands too much from them.
First of all shared , as the quote says “ He concludes with this: “It’s all about hiring the right people. You know, this culture either resonates with people or it doesn’t. It is important that a team leader is more of a mentor to their team members rather than just being a strict manager. Team leaders should understand their team members well. Today employees are to share a healthy comfortable level of relationship with their supervisors and managers. A team leader has the responsibility to encourage their team to provide the best and immediately intervene in cases of conflict. All team members should be able to trust the team leader, look up to them and take their team lead advice confidentially whenever required.
It seems like, even though you may seem like a workaholic (I can be too sometimes) you make time for your family and have a nice balance between personal and professional life. Every leader has to make critical decisions, which involves values, and these decisions can impact a company, This is the same for one’s personal life. I try to set the example and in and outside of the workplace, but my ethics and values will influence how I model the way in my professional and personal life regardless. We both chose authentic leadership. It’s simply being self-aware and genuine and putting the company first.
For Rich’s decision to be successful, salary and hourly employees need to “trust their leader and feel they will be treated fairly and honestly” (Griffith and Gould 2008). Because the situation and impending decision impact the employees in different ways, he should consult the hourly and salaried employees face to face, but in separate settings. Rich should consult with the salaried employees first to gain insight on his decision. Their reactions will help Rich solidify his decision, then he will continue the consulting approach to share this information with his hourly

John Quincy Adams once said “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” In order to be a great leader in life one needs to have skills in teamwork, be responsible, and strive for success. Being a leader requires skills in the department of teamwork. A person should communicate with their peers on the task-at-hand. If you are arriving to work late or taking extra breaks you are, either intentionally or not, telling your employees that this type of behavior is acceptable. It is critical that you adhere to policies regarding punctuality and breaks. Ask yourself, how can you enforce the standard if you’re not meeting it. Team-focused – As a supervisor I expect you to take the lead and ensure success. This is done through a team-focused mindset combined with a proactive work posture.
Volunteering at Union Mission was an inspiration as well as a learning experience. This experience helped me to make my final decision for my career path. Watching the caseworkers during their assessment with a client, enabled me to see their professionalism and how each case worker dealt with each client in the same manner. The caseworkers maintained a controlled atmosphere due to their demeanor and personality. Respect was attained for this profession, in addition, I realized that all situations are going to be different and there are going to be some good days and some bad days.
