A very good morning to my lecturer Madam Rokiah and my beloved friends. Today I would like to deliver a speech on ‘How to prevent water pollution’.
Our life is depends on water, and without water no form of life can survive. But it is hard to believe that still got people can turn a blind eye to water pollution. Every year thousands and thousands of people, especially children, fall prey to water-borne diseases, and nearly half of them die. Water pollution is a serious issue because water is a most precious source that supports the survival of planet.
Water pollution destroys life and ecology and cause irreparable damages. Those who are still not serious about water pollution must remember that the pollutants present in water destroy the life in the rivers and oceans and also affect our food chain.People forget that 70% of the earth is covered by water, and any activity on the land can wash to the seas and

Moreover, is better to sweep the driveway instead of hosing it down. In this way, along with saving water you will also prevent the polluted water from running to drains or nearby water source. Then, clean the pet waste so that you do not leave it in the open. Pet waste is also a form of water pollution because it may get mix with water and give out bad smell. One more important thing is use water wisely. As we all know water is a vital need for every living organism. Do not keep the tap running when not in use especially. You also can reduce the amount of water you use in washing and bathing. We can reduce water wastage by avoiding washing our vehicles using tap water. We can wash it under rain, we can save more water and money too. If we all do this, we can significantly prevent water shortages and reduce the amount of dirty water that needs
Why? It’s because, the chemicals goes into the soil and makes runoff from the stormwater, and gets into the water, and pollutes it. The chemicals make the water polluted, which also harms the wildlife. Other things including sediments, dirt, and muck also get in the water
Charles Fishman, author of The Big Thirst: The Secret Life and Turbulent Future of Water, presents in chapter ten, “The Fate of Water”, the importance of recognizing the value of water in order to solve water problems all over the world. Fishman uses Senator Arlen Specter’s town hall speech and an app called “Water Your Body” to point out that the real problems with water are water illiteracy and water mythology. He adds that water problems will be solved when people understand the beauty and qualities of water. In continuance, water has a personality and the presence of it can change moods and help people feel better. For instance, the WET company helps people see the beauty of water through magnificent water fountains.
Concrete, or more specifically ready-mix concrete, is a common material for driveways and walkways. While it works well and is usually quicker to pour, it is prone to some issues. Discoloration, flaking, and crumbling are all pitfalls of ready-mix concrete. Fortunately, these pitfalls can easily be avoided. If you have recently had your driveway or walkway poured with ready-mix concrete, use these four tips to help it keep it looking beautiful and healthy for years to come: 1.
One of the major pollution problems that affect our drinking water include animal-feeding operations. Within the United States, “animals like cattle, chickens, lambs, are fattened up before slaughter in tens of thousands of pens” (72). As a result, manure builds up because the animals are kept in their pens for such long durations. Even though the manure is moved to other areas for storage or use, rain often causes it to seep into clean waterways and aquifers (72). Our water supply is compromised because “California Central Valley alome is home to 1.4 million cows.
“Groundwater is like a bank account. You can’t take out more than you put in on ongoing basis. ”(Khokha 3). The more water you save right now the more you will have in the
Around the globe every minute a child dies because of water-related disease, Women spend hours walking to collect water, it has been estimated 1 in 9 people lack access to safe water, hospital bed spaces are occupied majorly people related to water-borne diseases. I am writing to express my concern regarding the visible amount of trash in our neighborhood. The surroundings of Dentonia Park and all the way to the Golf Club are filled with pieces of paper, cans, broken toys, packages and all the sort of unwanted objects on the grass, ruining the pleasant experience of walking in the park with the children. It is a duty of each citizen to preserve the city and it is not excusable to throw away garbage on the streets, however, a few measures could serve as friendly reminders of a person’s obligation. There is a lack of garbage bins in the park and on the sidewalks and this could be one of the reasons of why people are disrespecting the environment. If there is plenty of places to dispose the garbage properly,

Water Pollution is a huge environmental problem that has serious effects on marine habitats, animals, and water quality. BP1: The world's marine habitat has been getting worse because of how bad the pollution has gotten. “ Over 80% of marine pollution comes from land based activities “ (source 5 ). This quote explains how most of the water pollution is caused by human activity. “ Plastic litter does not degrade, can be expected to last in the oceans for hundreds of years “ ( source 6 ).
The idea of preserving water is a debatable subject. However, humans should stop wasting water and should not take it for granted in order to survive with a healthy body, and reduce health risks. The most important reason why people should conserve clean water is to survive. In other words, water equals life. Without clean water, we will pass away in just a few days.
Water can no longer continue to stay unprotected, it is simply too important. Today most countries have laws aimed at safeguarding water quality and controlling water abstractions (Groenfeldt, 2013). In 2010, a new human right to ‘safe water and sanitation’ was recognized by the United Nations and implemented effective immediately. Water not only feeds the human body, but also the earth. Without water, nothing can grow.

Water is the most important component found on the surface of the earth because it is source of life for living creatures. However, water pollution has become a global concern. Water pollution can have several forms from diverse sources. It is expected that there will be a lack of clean water in next few decades due to pollution. Nile river water in Egypt is the focus of attention of many studies due to many reasons.
