The killer bees can chase someone/thing for over a mile. They are far more aggressive than a regular bee. Just recently in a California town dozens were wounded because of a bee attack. A beekeeper was moving a bee hive when the bees went crazy. They stung him many times, through his suit! They then proceeded to terrorize the town. They chased people and swarmed around cars. A family got back to their house to find their two dogs dead, covered head to toe with bee stings. They were dead. Scientist expect there to be more bees once the weather gets warmer.

The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd, is an interesting story that connects human lives to bees. The story takes place in 1964 during the Civil Rights Movement and fourteen year-old Lily Owens leaves her abusive father and her home in Sylvan, South Carolina to go to Tiburon with hopes to find information on her mother. Throughout the story, Lily struggles with many internal conflicts and also meets several mother figures along the way. In the story, Kidd’s use of characterization successfully reveals the theme that people's lives are more complex than they appear. Kidd demonstrates this theme using the characterization of Lily, T. Ray, May, and Deborah.

Do you ever look around and ask yourself, "Where have those fuzzy, black, and yellow worker bees gone?" Well, I do! Bees are hard workers and whether they are pollinating plants, making honey, or just flying around making that "Bzzzzzz" sound they are always working. People underestimate the power of bees and the benefits they bring to this earth. The truth is they are very important to people and to the earth, but people don't realize that, and neither did I. The setting of a story can vastly affect a story. A horror story is a lot different if it’s set on a park instead of a old haunted house. The Secret life of Bees is set in South Carolina during 1964.In 1964 the civil rights movemant was slowly winding down as African Americans got rights but the tensions where still there.In The Secret Life of Bees the setting has a huge effect on the plot because Zach gets captured because he is with lily, May commits suicide becuase he is always so sad from all the african americans geting killed and hurt, and lily and rosaline run away because they don 't want to get hurt.

Primate parenting is somewhat different than the parenting styles of other mammals. Primates tend to give birth to fewer offspring than other mammals, but become more invested in those offspring. Primates take care of their offspring longer than other mammals, but as a result, these offspring tend to be smarter, more socially complex, and longer living. “By caring for their offspring, providing them with food, and teaching them about social roles and social behavior generally, primates increase the chances of their species’ survival” (170). In addition, Primates tend to care for their young longer because the development period is longer for primates than other mammals, which is also because of their higher intelligence levels in comparison to other animals. Every day millions of honey bees fly back and forth from their hives. They pollinate a plethora of flowers and produce great amounts of honey. Many people do not realize what bees do for them and their communities. Without bees, people would not have any fresh flowers or produce. The bee population helps provide growth to one-third of the food in the world (Haltiwanger). Without bees, there would not be as much food for humans to survive. Even though we need bees to survive many people go on with their day not ever thinking of what can save the bees. The effect of economy is clear and significant to the story. The dominant social class, which are the white males, are shown to have more power. During this time period, white men were typically supported by the black community, such as people like Rosaleen, a black servant on Terrence Owen’s (Or T-Ray) Peach Farm and the caretaker of Lily Owens (T-Ray’s daughter). Rosaleen was one of many whom, “Worked as one of his pickers,” (2), and without the many laborers like Rosaleen, none of the work would have gotten done on the peach farm. Thus, the story sets up a setting where the dominant white community was supported by the black community, which creates a great lead into the struggle against oppression later in the story. Because of how The Secret Life Of Bees sets up the white community as the dominant class and the black community as the less significant/poorer class , it creates a greater emphasis on the struggle against oppression. The Boatwright sisters, which consists of August, June, and May, are described by Lily as, “‘The [women] who [make] the Black Madonna Honey,’” (68). When Lily enters their home, she even states that, “Each chair had its only little velvet stool sitting before it. Velvet,” (70). Through Lily, we can see that she is shocked that the lower class is not only running their own business and making a good amount of capital, but have enough capital to afford a luxury such as velvet.

Over one third of our food supply depends on bees pollinating. What that means is if bees aren’t around to pollinate our food than we won’t have the everyday food we eat, like blueberries and apples. Bees aren’t only essential in the pollination of around 250,000 plants, but In 2015-2016 44.1% was the annual loss of bees in US managed bee colonies surpassing the acceptable amount by 27% (Bee Informed). Worker bees are more than just workers for their hive, they are also workers for us $15 billion was contributed to the nation 's economy by these bees ( Bee Informed). You wouldn’t want to have around 1-2 thirds of our food that requires pollination to disappear, would you?

The primate parenting process in general requires a lot more investment compared to that of other mammals. They take a long time to reproduce, which places a high value on the offspring that they do have. Primates give birth to one single offspring at a time, and that offspring has a long maturation process into adulthood relative to that of most mammals. Common “bee” sightings fall into various different groups of potential species, of which most are not really bees. Now we are concentrated on removing honey bees only. We should not throw sticks, rocks or other items at the swarm in an attempt to drive it away. We are not attempting any procedures of bee control other than the advice I am going to give you here.
