I have a learning disability. I have dyslexia and dyscalculia. I remember being in school, especially high school. I would have use these transparencies to help me read. I would get teased and get to embarrassed to use them in class. I remember the teachers would sometimes talk to me as if I was “slow”. When, in fact I was only in 504 for my math. This made me upset and feel like I was not smart. Even though, I only have Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I want to prove to people with a learning disability;or are is special education you can accomplish anything. Do not let the others’ negativity affect you. When, talking about the child’s behavior; avoid starting out on a negative sentence. Avoid using direct phrases like “Jimmy keeps disrupting the class and is always trying to distract the other children”. Instead, try starting out with something the child does, then slowly direct; but not to upfront about the child’s behavior. Example,” Jimmy is an outstanding student, he loves to help pass out snacks during snack times. However, Jimmy sometimes talks during nap time or interrupt me while speaking. Sometimes, Jimmy gets up from his seat and tries to distract the other children than
I can envision myself successful in either one of these settings for different reasons. For elementary school, the goal is to be establishing the child’s foundation of language and academics. There will be basic concepts of science, reading/writing, and math taught, as well as time for storytelling. I am skilled in being emotionally expressive in my signing, especially in storytelling. I am also capable at using classifiers effectively to portray concepts.
When he is upset, he will feel better if his educator gives him a big cuddle and sits with him for a while. He builds a sense of belonging and establishing relationships with other children, evidenced by his attendance at group times, music times, meal times. He shows interest in other children and being part of the group by observing them and copying what they do, for example, he is learning to wipe his hands before meals as he sees all his friends doing it. He interacts with his friends as well as sit along side his friends in a small group enjoying plastic blocks together. He feels relexed and comfortable exploring the environment in the room.
I suffer from permanent nerve damage in my dominant hand due to a car accident caused by a distracted driver. This experience taught me the importance of support and patience in working with individuals who have disabilities. Additionally, my involvement in working at the Reading Clinic, with children who have dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning disabilities, enhanced my aspirations to help those with impairments. My vision for my professional life is to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with speech and communication-related disorders. I want to help them overcome their challenges and reach their full potential.
Being taught the proper way to speak about disabilities really helps, I am now trying to speak in “ Person first” so as not to discriminate or place a stigma upon a person’s shoulders. When I eventually become a teacher all the new information I learned about diversity and disabilities in SED 125 such as knowing that not all children learn the same way or that some children may have a bigger struggle than others, and how to build healthy positive relationships with my future student. I will try to apply all the new information to my classroom
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Briona Mcall, as your child’s new teacher in K-2 CDC special education class. I will soon hold a Bachelor degree in Communication Disorders and my studies have taught me how to communicate with individuals from all backgrounds, professions, and social classes. I have experience in interacting favorably and effectively with children of a wide range and enjoy doing so. I belong in an educational environment and would like to continue on to the school system and contribute to the success of school aged children and young adults.
One reason why I think that this career would be good for me is because I like helping kids. I’ve always loved being able to interact and help children. Plus, if I get into a foreign language class like my goal, then I’ll be able to talk to kids that don’t speak English. All I’ll have to do to be able to do that, would be turning everything in in ELA, do well on projects, and make sure that I get better grades so Ms. Miller can refer me for a Spanish
Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.
As an addition to my education background, some of my other qualification that will allow me to qualify for your program is my passion for making a difference within the deaf community. My ability to talk out about the issue surrounding the Deaf community throughout my advocacy as a …. I have gone to many events surrounding the different ways in which the Deaf community needs helps. Therefore, my well-rounded knowledge of what the deaf community wants and needs, allows me to better understand the different ways I can further help this community have a
Reflecting on my educational and practical experiences, I appreciate the infinite influence that teachers have on children. I realise that children will take the skills and knowledge learnt in the classroom and use it throughout their lives. I know a teacher has to deal with many daily pressures and challenges, in the classroom. However, I feel I require the skills needed to deal with these challenges. As a teacher I hope not only to be an educator but a positive role model, whom the children can look up to and trust.

English-language learners (ELLs) with special needs belong to a minority group and require specific direction for educators on how to help these students in the school context and how to help to improve their educational outcomes. This is one of the most important topics in the field of education in the USA. The main issue of the teachers is to decrease the achievement gap between ELLs and their peers. Though, the educational needs of ELLs are diverse and rather complicated. English language learners face many obstacles due to their cultural and linguistic diversity.

When looking at the video “Second Grade Students Misbehaving in Reading Group”, a girl is reading a group a book. While she is reading multiple students are acting out. They are moving in their chairs, leaning on the table, banging on the table, tipping in their chairs, making noise, and disrupting the reader.
