Introduction on HCI
Often software developers create a computer program or system for a device that requires users to spend time to learn how to use the program. These interfaces might be easy to use for developers since they know the system well, but a user just wants to get the job done without spending lots of time learning the software (they might want to switch to another program if it’s too hard to use). A developer might treat the program and the user separately, however the user is part of the system and a developer needs to create softwares with the user in mind,

Just when you think you’ve got a good idea, you’ll find that a whole group of people struggle to figure out how to use it or sometimes backfires in a situation. Even worse, some computer developers think that their users are dummies and that any interface problems are the user’s fault and not the developer’s. But the real problem is that the developer knows the system pretty well, whereas the user just wants to get their job done without having to spend lots of time learning the software. If the software is too hard to use, people will just find something else that’s easier. Good interfaces are worth a lot in the market.
Introduction on Web design
Web design is the planning and creation of websites. This includes the information of architecture, site structure, layout, user interface, navigation, colours, imagery, and fonts. All of these are combined with the principles of design to create a website that meets the goals of the owner and designer. When you do web design you can work on entire sites or individual pages like:
HTML
CSS
JavaScript
CGI

HCI is an important consideration for any business that uses computers in their everyday operation. Well designed systems ensure that staff are not frustrated during their work and as a result are more content and productive. HCI is also important in the design of safety critical systems, such as, for example, air traffic control centers or power plants. If there are design errors in these situations, it can have serious results, possibly resulting in the death of many people.
How is web design applied in any company/organizations?
Web designing is an important factor in promoting business or marketing a product. As billions of users browse through the web, trying to find what they want at homes, lots of companies or organizations don't want to miss the profits it can give them.
Print ads or billboards are a good source of promoting products but people nowadays would rather choose to sit in their homes and browse through the web searching for the things they need, e.g. Amazon.com, Ebay.com or Gumtree.
The design of the webpage is important as it is the door to the viewers interest. A user normally takes only 5 - 8 seconds to decide whether they are going to continue browsing the site or
One of biggest roadblock that companies have to face is to invest a lot of money on implementing a software system and have employees ignore it and keep trying to do the task in their own way. This the reason why the provider that you choose for implementing your software have to be a natural fit for the organization. If the owners and employees have the same passion and understanding of the product that they would implement the result would be a success (Phillips, 2016).
The second progress report document includes the description and the screenshots of all pages on the website, and how the site has been adhered the security protocols, web standards other best practices in Web development. Development considerations was also listed. 4.1. Template Page Layout All pages have the header and the horizontal navigation bar on the top and the vertical navigation system and the user login form on the left hand side.
Assignment 1 What is Web Server Scripting? Explain the principles of web server scripting: Web server scripting is simply where a script is executed on the web server before a webpage is sent to the user. This means that the files that the user can customised rather the layout or information shown on the webpage once they load it up, an example of this would be, on Facebook once you login you will get a news feed, which is for you alone and no one else. This makes webpages dynamic; they can change depending on circumstances of the user instead of being a simple static page which can’t change rather the layout, information and so forth.
2) at the beginning of the computers industry the user was dealing with text interface only and every thing
3. Research Question and Objectives Our main objective is to design a web-based visual interactive software that can provide us a graphical interface for computer programming. Where basic general purpose programming facilities will be available like creation of modules, arrays and object orientation. Where we can achieve multitasking using threads and exception handling to catch exceptions.
- working with working staff to set up strategies, models and frameworks. - Setting client administration measures & assuring that the current standards satisfy the customers & helps retaining them. • Coordinating with the workers themselves can help effectively in setting appropriate models for the procedures & systems because they are the ones who interact directly with raw materials and producing the products, so they would know better if anything in manufacturing needs improvement or so. • It is important to satisfy the current customers in different possible ways in order to retain them which eventually leads in attracting more customers as well.

This is when various different patterns and colours are used as well as objects; all of these allow the user to interact personally with the interface. Colour It is very important that when designing an interface that you
It may not take a rocket scientist to design a website. However, a poorly designed website may end up costing your company overall. Do not reject the idea of hiring a web designer. “There is a science to good design, and a good designer is worth the cost and will make sure to explain every part of their reasoning to you during the process so that you understand how and why things will work or won’t work,” Humphrey
The article, “Taking Multitasking to Task” by Mark Harris demonstrates the effects of having too much technology in our lives and observes the effects of technology on his life and society. Harris begins his essay referring to personal anecdotes of his use of technology and how it affects his life drastically to a point where there is no return from it. In the book, Fahrenheit 451, Montag’s and Faber’s observation of effects of technology in society, are related to Harris’s observations about technology because society doesn’t want to utilize technology it wants to become consumed by it. Harris’s observation of technology in the society we live in today relates to Montag’s and
According to Sperry & Sperry (2012), Cognitive –Behavioral case conceptualizations include a clinical, cultural, and treatment formulation that emphasize signature elements such as predisposition (maladaptive cognitions/behaviors), treatment goals, treatment focus, treatment strategy and treatment interventions. In efforts to demonstrate an example of a Cognitive – Behavioral case conceptualization statement, Client A is presented. Client A is a 9 year old female Caucasian, 4th grader.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, over 3,331 people were killed and over 387,000 injured in motor vehicle accidents connected to distracted driving (“Learn the Facts About Distracted Driving - EndDD”). Distracted driving is dangerous and needs to continue to be promoted and used for many more years. Many People think that distracted driving is only texting and driving, it is not. There are three types of distracted driving that drivers may do without noticing.
Since IBM introduced the first personal computer in 1981 and following with Apple introducing the first Macintosh in 1984, graphic design has had huge advances for the better and has since become an ally and tool for modern-day designers. While in the old days a designer would have to use the time consuming “cut and paste” method to create layouts, now they can simply click and drag elements around in Adobe Indesign. Typography has evolved from the days when Johannes Guternberg introduced the mechanical movable type to the point where, in the present day designers can just simple kern or track type with the push of a mouse button. The versatility in digital products like the Adobe Creative Suite allows the designer to be more experimental in their creation and thus pushing boundaries on what can be created.
Internet technology has new created new medium for designers. Design has become a breathing and living animal that users can interact with. The web has become a natural evolution of skills for broadcast designers while print designers may struggle. When watching a movie, using interactive tools on a properly designed website and flash animation has been an active participant. Technology has enabled online communities in collaboration with the internet to work with designers in solving problems
WEB- BASED SERVICES IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE NISHA KUMARI Research Scholar Department of Library and Information science, University of Jammu, J&K Mob: - 9796625607, E-mail:- nishabhagat89@gmail.com ABSTRACT With the emergence of the internet and associated technologies, in particular the World Wide Web has opened up an entirely new medium for providing improved information services and resources for the users. Library services provided by using web technology are referred as web based library services. The present paper mainly discusses that what are the web based library services, their features, advantages and disadvantages. Different web based services i.e. library webpage, Web OPAC, ask-a-librarian, email have been highlighted.
Today, technology and interactive media have become a magic to make education for children more fascinating and fun. What is technology and interactive media? National Association for the Education of Young Children (2012), says that technology refers to a broad range of digital devices and interactive media refers to digital and analog materials. Some examples of technology are computers, tablets, multitouch screens, interactive whiteboards, mobile devices, cameras, audio recorders, electronic toys, games and e-book readers. Some examples of interactive media are software programs, applications (apps) and the Internet.
