Summary Human error is a concern alarming how people execute duties on and off work. Some factors are the limitations, capabilities, and skills of human being. In aviation, errors exist from the ground like mechanics or air traffic control to the air like the pilots or crew coordination. When assessing an accident that occurred it can be caused by equipment failure as well as a mechanical problem or just simply the person made a mistake.
Problem Statement

On November 17, 2013 a tragic ending happened on Kazan (Russia) airport. A Tatarstan Airlines Boeing 737-500 was flying 44 passengers which included the President of Tatarsan’s son and 6 crew members from Moscow Domodedovo to Kazan (Russia). To work as a pilot on an airline company you need to have a few requirements such as: some type of aviation degree, up to 2 months of ground training and more than 1500 hours of flight experience. The license and certification requirements; are commercial pilot’s license, instrumental training as well as airline transport pilot certification. Having the requirements or certification is just the beginning. As a pilot you also need to have important skills such as: strong communication, problem solving, good reaction time or overcome the issue, and able to operate aircraft computer plus the navigation system. Being a pilot is one of the most challenging jobs, due to being responsible for the cargo or personnel but also having possible hazard during flight like weather problems or being fatigue. Once be looked at for a position, the pilot does an extra 6 to 8 weeks of ground training with about 25 hours of flight training to give the individual more experience before being hired by the airline. All this training and certifications are required not just to hire pilots but also to keep everyone safe on the air when traveling. The advantage of this training is to keep the pilot well trained for different types of environments also being trained for the (what if) scenarios and overcome them with no issues. Being trained on the right equipment and aircraft is the pilots’ job to be able to understand what to do in the air. This will make you more aware when a hazard can occur and how to manage the obstacle. One of the disadvantages of Tatarstan Airlines was that the pilot was not properly trained on the Boeing 737-500 aircraft. Another concern was that the crew was not mentally trained for missed approach procedures as well as not paying attention to detail like the autopilot being disconnected.
