The book was written the time of World War II where Saint-Exupéry was forced to move to New York because the Germans invaded France. The thoughts of leaving his homeland and achieving peace lead him to write the book. Also, different analysis of human nature and symbols about society are depicted in the book. He feels lonely so he decided to leave. He went to search in the different planets. In the first six planets, he saw a king, a vain man, a drunkard, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. Then, he goes to the earth as the geographer suggested. He meets a snake and the snake tells him that if he wishes to go back to the heavens, its lethal poison can send him. The little prince declines the offer and continues to explore. On his way, he finds a rose garden and he recalled that the rose told him that she is the only one existing of her kind. He finds a fox and becomes his friend. The fox teaches him that the best things in life are only visible through the heart. There are many roses in the garden but only one stands out. He realizes that the rose left in his planet is still special to him and he is saddened more by the thought of him being away from the rose. The role of letter writing had an impact on the course of the book and each person connected the direction of Ibrahima’s journey. A former prince, Abd al-Rahman Ibrahima, was captured through an ambush due to his lost to the Hebohs and is now a slave (23).
Golding says “The boys broke into shrill, exciting cheering” (41) in the beginning of the novel, then at the end of the novel says, “A great clamor rose among the savages” (164). William Golding who wrote The Lord of the Flies changes his word choice from “boys” to “savages” to emphasize the fact that the boys change into savage creatures. Three symbols represent civilization and change into chaos over the course of the novel. The three symbols representing change are Piggy’s glasses, The fire, and the conch. These figures demonstrate the important theme that the calm civilization will soon break out into disorder.

However, in the book, The Princess Bride by William Goldman, the story develops the theme of revenge and true love in more depth compared to the movie. First of all, the book provides a detailed past of each main character which makes the reader sympathize with them. For example, in the book, the author has dedicated four to five pages to understand Inigo’s and Fezzik’s past.

Charles Perrault uses the princess’ character to reveal the major themes of overcoming evil, child abuse and incest in the story. Perrault also brings out the moral that it is better to encounter awful challenges in life than to fail in one’s duty. He shows that although the virtue may seem unrealistic, it can always triumph. In the story of The Prince and the Pauper, the main characters are Edward Tudor Prince of Wales and Tom Canty, a pauper, who eventually unwittingly switched identities. Prince Edward is a prideful, self-centered, but honest person in the beginning of the story. However, throughout his adventure the experiences and hardships he suffers through change him for the better. His pride as the prince over time changes into humility, his self-centeredness develops into sympathy and feeling righteous indignation for others.
