Introduction of HRM:
The concept of HRM emerged in the mid 1980s against the background of the works of famous writers on management. Previously, HRM term was using as Personnel Management. Effective management of human resources promotes team work and team spirit among employees. It offers excellent growth opportunities to people who have the potential to rise. It also encourages people to work with diligence and commitment. HRM plays a key role in an organization from recruitment to retirement functions. Good HR efforts lead to productivity gains (ratio of output to input) to the society, since it enables the managers to reduce costs, save scarce resources, enhance profits and offer better pay, benefits and working conditions to employees.

Recruitment & Selection: It initiates the people to apply for job and choose the right person for the right job.
2. Induction & Orientation: After the entering into the organisation the HR department offers induction and orientation to the new entrants to make them comfortable in an organisation.
3. Training & Development: Based on the Job analysis and training needs assignment the HR department conducts training and development programs to perform the current job effectively and develops the manpower in future oriented also.
4. Performance Appraisal: In a periodical intervals the HR department assess the performance of the employee to identify training needs, to promote them and recognise the competencies of employees etc.
5. Job analysis: Job analysis gives information with regards to job description and job specification which is helpful to identify the importance of the specific job to the organisation.
6. Employee Motivation and Welfare: As the employee is asset to the organisation the HR department always take care of employees with regards to their needs and tries to motivate them by offering various benefits and appraising them for their
