As a nurse, needle stick injuries are one of my biggest fears, and I’m really sorry to hear that it happened to you, and that you had to get OSHA involved in order for your workplace to adopt safer work conditions. In my opinion, nurses should have every right to demand safe needle devices as a part of a safe work environment, because they are the ones most frequently injured (United States Department of Labor, n.d). Under the regulation number of 1904 every employee is required to keep a sharp injury log, and OSHA records and reports this information yearly. Expectant mothers are capable of taking part in the activities they were undertaking before, only if it is not harmful to their current state. Employers should refrain from unfair treatment and victimization of pregnant women in the workplace, since they are key members of the company and their current situation, is neither permanent nor will cost the business to retain the women’s services (Pittman, 2016). Women enjoy the same human rights as their male counterparts. It is the responsibility of employers to create an encouraging working environment for its entire staff even when they are expectant (Berryman & Windridge, 2007). Some women are vital and influential players in the different industries.

The reading begins its discussion by mentioning the differences in treatment, society roles, and limitations and women face in their daily lives. Since the establishment of the roles of society, women have been entitled to feminine roles that focus on family and nurturing.
The first strand that will be discussed will be that of Liberal feminism which focuses on the issues of gender equality. This theory has influenced the breeding of social activists whose main concern has been conceived as to protect and mend the political and social freedom of life. This has transcended to waging legal and political clashes against gender based violence on a domestic level among others. Feminist political philosophers have enlightened the distinct separation of domestic and public and their influence on maintaining patriarchal domination of women. The domestic setup such as the family has provided for this type of notion, given the roles of bearing children and being caregivers in the household (McAfee, 2014).

The first factor that caused the changing role of women in history was their desire for equal rights.
