An Army professional must strive at all times to be a leader and role model to other soldiers in the Army. An Army professional must maintain a strong work ethic and value system. As an integral part of the Army, the HR professional must always be willing and ready to work on any challenge presented to him/her and in a timely manner. There are times when issues arise that are time sensitive and it is the responsibility of the HR professional to put in the work to get the job done. From an outsider’s perspective, the HR professional may not seem to be important, but all of the professional roles in the Army are important and necessary to get the job done.
They should also respect their fellow soldiers and those of higher ranks. Their duties include having to go onto the battlefield, where it involves bloody scenes and requires a strong mentality. They have to have the courage to go on even if it seems tough and scary because that is what they are trained for. In the end, the most important thing that they have to protect is the wellbeing and security of the country. In the post deployment phase, service members, or soldiers return to their home installation and prepare to go back to their normal lives.
Leaders need to trust their subordinates and empower them, and subordinates need to trust their leaders to give them the freedom to carry out such orders. After all, the leaders and the subordinates share the same common purpose, to defend the security and integrity of the United States as a sovereign nation. Trustworthiness is each and everyone’s responsibility in the Army. How we live and conduct ourselves reflect our personal and professional values. If an individual chooses to behave in a way that corrodes the Army values, it weakens the effectiveness of the profession, and destroys trust among our comrades, allies, and the people that we serve.
Army Values Essay The Seven Values are Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. The Army Values are important and guide soldiers and leaders to do what is right on a day to day basis within their career. The Army Values are known as the foundation of the army. Even though people know the meaning of these values, not everyone actually lives up to them, but soldiers are taught in Basic Combat Training (BCT) the details of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. These Seven Core Army Values are what make a Soldier, they are a part of what separates us from other organizations.
Some pros could be, leadership training because, upcoming soldiers are taught to take responsibility for other. For example, the army influencing other to overcome difficult obstacles, such as fighting for our country. So the us, civilians, don’t really have to worry as much. Another is, self direction. I say self direction as a pro because, being in the Army can help you by, after being hopefully honorably discharged.
It is the Trust between Soldiers, between Soldiers and Leaders, Army Civilians, families, and the American people that enables The Army Profession to continue as an autonomous and self-governing organization. Leaders build trust within their units through by demonstrating their competence, character, and commitment and by instilling the same in Soldiers. The Army Ethic guides the conduct of our Soldiers and provides the identity of the Army Profession as a representative of our Nation’s interests. Violations of trust damage the Army’s reputation as a respectable profession in the eyes of the American people and place the Army Profession in jeopardy. The Army continues to be regarded as one of the most trusted organizations in the United States, and as leaders, it is vital that every order, action and mission is executed daily in accordance with the Army Values, that its leaders conduct themselves as professionals guided by the Army Ethic, and that the Army continues to uphold the American people’s trust by remaining ethically and morally true to the values of the American
When it came to the overall discipline my methods proved to be more effective. I would in return have the most discipline group of Soldier in the unit. As a leader always believed in leading from the front, so I did. When it came to anything I ensured that my presence was known, by involving myself in whatever the Soldiers was doing. Unlike some leaders, I wanted to be seen and not heard.
The Army knows how important communication is, we just can 't have people running around doing their own thing. Accountability and the proper use of the chain of command is how we will meet this goal as one. The AAR is important to me because it allows everyone to give feedback. It is the higher rankings jobs to look for ways to improve everything we do, the AAR is constructive criticism but along with constructive criticism should come positive feedback too. Having good communication skills is not only important in the work place, communication skills plays a huge role in life.
The focus has to go back on doing no harm to the patient. Shifting the mind set to protect the patient instead of the organization is essential for the improvement of quality care and reducing complacency. Staff will have to be focused on what could go wrong, no matter how many times they have performed the task. This way of thinking is going to have to be entrenched into the staff. There has to be processes in place that everyone follows.
Effective delegation is an important part of leadership but excessive delegation is a NO GO. I expect every squad leader to use their personal leadership style in order to accomplish the mission while remaining engaged and involved. Never ask your Soldiers to do anything that you are not willing to do
Another aspect to look at is the moral of the unit. Moral of soldiers must be intact to hold soldiers together in the harsh environments they may face. Soldiers are often asked to work for long hours in difficult situations. They are asked to deploy to foreign countries far from home and perform tasks many choose not to do. For a soldier and further a unit to succeed in these tasks their moral must remain high.
Leadership Philosophy My leadership philosophy is based on the importance of communication, and inspiration. As leaders we have to work hard to accomplish our mission but at the same time we have to take care of our Soldiers and their Families to accomplish the mission. All leaders have different qualities but through time we build our qualities with experience. The importance of communication is to ensure that your Soldiers understand the task to be done. Not all Leaders are the same but we also have to remember that not all Soldiers are the same.
These specific values embody responsibility, putting others before self and taking the hard right over the easy wrong. These are just a few attributes needed to be a profession of arms. Working for the Army is not just a job; it is an understanding that we are here to serve the people of the United States. Through trial, error and time, we will see what we are doing right and where we can improve so that we are better in the future. It is only by living each of these responsibilities that I can begin to answer the call my country has placed upon me.
