Human Socialization

The main focus of this paper is to help people to understand the importance of socialization as it relates to human being. Socialization is a “lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential and learn the culture of their society”. From the very moment a child is born there is a need to socialize. (Macionis, 2009, p.75). As Macionis (2009) states “without socialization an individual would bear little resemblance to any human being defined as moral standard in his/her society.” Socialization refers to the meaning of one being able to relate in a pleasant type of companionship with a friend or associate” “Socialization In cooperates natural socialization, planned socialization, and positive socialization. (Chaudhari, 2013). Natural Socialization Natural socialization is the role of experience, through this process as early as childhood the child begins to learn from his/her parents how to interact with human which will allow them to discover the social world. This type of socialization is extremely important in the life of youngsters because without this their developmental span would be slow and they would look like a human but does not behave like one especially if they are place in total isolation. An example is social worker Davis (1940/1947) discovered a five year’s old girl named Anna who did not interact sufficiently with humans over a period of time which causes her to lack some important characteristic of human such as intelligence
